W205 17" Alloys with Blizzak winter tyres

One full set of genuine 17" W205 (and other '205's) wheels for sale. Currently have Bridgestone Blizzak winter tyres on with 7mm tread on all 4 across the full width. I used them on a W205 AMG line, and can confirm they fit over the larger brake calipers. There are NO scuffs, just a few minor...

    Replacing W205 interior trim

Without - the piano black didn't have one, so it made it into a straight swap. I didn't want the hassle of coding or cabling! It's an easy swap if you take your time, I can take a picture if you like? I'll certainly be selling the parts soon, although the centre trim is still in my car... I...

    W205 C250d Adblue fault

Car has now been taken away on a recovery truck  Codes were P13DF and P13E4, which I believe are Adblue system general and component failure codes. Ahhh, the joys of a modern diesel.

    What MPG are people getting?

Yeah, it's rural Suffolk, so apart from the occasional tractor it's very plain sailing! Easy to just keep bimbling around at 40-50 with no hills and few junctions. Unfortunately my car is on a flatbed thanks to an Adblue system failure, so I can't check my average speed... :(

    What MPG are people getting?

C250d saloon here. Over 2 years and 25k miles, I've averaged 52 mpg. Very little motorway use, mostly country roads round here.

    W205 C250d Adblue fault

A couple of days ago my two-year old C250D sprung an orange engine management light. No loss of performance, no messages, nothing. A quick call to roadside assistance to cover my **** was made, and they told me it was safe to drive, so I drove home. This evening, I got a "497 miles until engine...

Winter Tyres - the great con???

It's quite easy to spot the difference, even at a reasonable distance. The treads are noticeably chunkier.

Winter alloy set - 17", nearly new, for latest C Class W205/C205 etc

For sale - one full set of genuine Mercedes 17” alloys with Bridgestone Blizzak winter tyres on, to fit a current generation C Class (W205, C205, A205 etc). They’ve transformed the way my car deals with winter conditions, and drastically improve handling and safety in cold (<8°C), wet, icy and...

Winter Tyres - the great con???

I'd guess because they're directional tyres, and they come prefitted, there are two right hand ones and two left hand ones! But no, I hadn't noticed and it does sound odd.

    Headlights restored! Ceramic coated

Oooh, I've been looking for someone to do a new-vehicle prep near Ipswich in a few weeks, I'll have to check them out. Any idea what coatings they use?

Winter Tyres - the great con???

They're the 17" Mercedes one the dealers flog (A2054010800), along with Bridgestone Blizzaks. It was tight getting them over the AMG line brakes, but they do just fit! I'm selling out and moving back to BMW due to an overly-tempting offer on an X3. We're getting a dog soon, and the W205 just...

    Replacing W205 interior trim

Well, in a true return to form I've agreed a sale on my W205 so this little project has been abandoned almost as soon as it has begun. Keep an eye out for a full set of black ash trim and 30 spare trim clips coming up for sale in a classifieds section near you!

Winter Tyres - the great con???

I swear by my winter wheels. My missus in her Beetle had all sorts of issues getting out of our estate the other day, whereas I had no bother whatsoever on winter tyres. Before I got them, even non-icy cold conditions could find me reaching the limit of traction very easily. Propaganda over...

    Replacing W205 interior trim

Well, the centre console has been replaced. Relatively simple, despite lots of cable looms. Anyone need a piano black trim set, or a control module? ;) The door inserts (i.e. the bit with the speaker grills) are definitely not removable with simple trim tools - they're held in place with metal...

    Replacing W205 interior trim

Hi all, After finalling reaching breaking point with the piano black dust-and-fingerprint magnet centre console trim on my W205, I ordered a full set of black ash trim from a breaker taking apart a GLC. All the trim is identical - the MB sticker even says W205 on it. There are videos online...

    pressure washer

I wouldn't spend the money on a foam lance if I was to do it all again. The foam is so messy, and the effect is no better than just pump spraying some dilute pre-cleaner. It felt like a good idea at the time, but the novelty has well and truly worn off now!

    New W205 owner

So, a few weeks in and here's some initial impressions... 1) The 250d engine is a LOT quieter from the cabin than I'd been led to believe by the various reviews. MB must have improved the sound deadening in response to the negative feedback. It's pretty much inaudible with even a modest...

The only downside is that you're unlikely to get the "golf umbrella and flowers for the Mrs" treatment on pickup that you might normally get if you'd paid too much! :D
