When it drives normally the position indicator is correct but when it is in limp mode it shows that it is in reverse. Thank you for replying.

Moisture and electronics don't jive. I've found two other threads discussing my problem exactly but in both cases the brake light switch was the culprit. If my car has one I don't know where it is. It's definitely not where most on a Benz are. Thank you for replying.

Here in Alabama we have been in a severe drought until a week ago and I'm guessing this has something to do with my issue. Drove the car to work with no problems and when I tried to crank the car to go home it wouldn't start. All lights work fine. Battery is 2 months old. Finally cranked but...
