E300TD is well worth thinking about for a mile cruncher - the OM606 is a v tough engine (without swirl flaps to worry about), and when the car's rotted to bits there are plenty of people who will buy it just for the engine - it's a perfect engine swap for superturbodiesel mods to W201 / W124s...

Quick update from the new owner - it only failed it's MOT on wear in the front suspension arms, and that's being sorted today. So it lives for another year at least, which makes me a happy man :D

I know he's a member of a UK MB forum, though I don't know whether it's this one or another. No doubt he'll pop up and introduce himself in due course if he is on here :)

...And, gone. I'm really going to miss it :( But at least I know it's gone to a good home with another MB enthusiast who can finish the resto properly.
