After a second visit, it is now working. They said the battery was OK, but it was a Telematics update that fixed it. This was after telling me the first time they had it that it was due to it being low on AdBlue Just glad it's working correctly now.

I can shuffle when playing music from a usb stick, so it should not be that different. There should be an entry under Options to choose the Play Mode
