Well I'm hoping it will just be a simple oil and filter change, which it sounds like even a trained monkey would be capable of! :D

What's wrong with Halfords by the way? They're half the price of the other local garage in Altrincham who advertise servicing for Mercedes – and they take Tesco Clubcard vouchers at three times their face value! I'm open to any preferable suggestions though... :)

Thanks 190, it sounds easy when you know how but really not something I'd be happy doing myself – especially not in my best dress – and I don't own a pair of overalls! ;) Also, I'm thinking about the service record, so I guess I'd be better getting a garage to do it...

I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to change the oil and filter myself (being a female with zero mechanical knowledge or inclination!) and have been quoted £250 by one local garage (not even an Mercedes dealership) and half the price by Halfords (much better but still £125) so was hoping I might have...

Hi, I have an SLK 200 and only do about 5000-6000 miles a year. It had a full service last June while still under it's sales warranty, which has now ended. Can anyone advise me if it's really necessary to have an interim service a year later when the annual mileage is so low? Thanks in advance!
