    My Sprinter headlights automatic mode isn’t working they just come on permanently and I get the bulb error light, side lights and main beam work fine no bulb lights anyone got any ideas ?

    Do these have a egr cooler? They said it’s just a flow through rather than a full on one and they bypassed it and it never made a difference. Sniffed test has been done it’s gone green that’s why the gasket was replaced first of all it was fine for 500 miles now going green again I tried it...

    The garage have replaced the head gasket on my sprinter, yet it’s still pressurising the coolant. Head was pressure tested and crack tested and skimmed. Is there any other air/coolant contamination points on the om646 engine? They blanked the egr cooler etc no change or have they just buggered...

    No bubbles even at high rpm or mayonaise it’s only doing it when it’s hot. I’m assuming it’s overheating and expelling excess coolant. Would you still say head gasket?

    Well new cap. Has shown that once the vehicle is hot it’s expelling all it’s coolant out the header tank? Guessing it’s overheating? What’s next step guys thermostat ?

    Have ordered a new cap for a tenner of Mercedes they will deliver It this afternoon and I will report back. The coolant level has dropped using the bus last night checked this morning

    I can physically see the header tank get lower once you’ve driven hard. Take the cap of and all the fluid re-appears. Any reason why mine does it the other way around ? My level flies down when hot! Not up that’s what I’m trying to work out...

    Mine does the opposite it gets hot expansion goes down.. undo cap pressure forces fluid from the rad and raises the level again. I would check the info though as if mine rose then it would be out the filler cap not much room at the top on max still reckon you were correct first time. Can someone...

    ??? So you’re now saying it should be higher. It’s a pressurised system. I think you’re were right first time ?youve confused me now! Was about to add I can see residue out the overflow near the cap on the bottle.

    If it keeps doing it probably the dpf needing replacement as it’s blocked up. Diesel into the sump. Drain some of and check how quick it rises.

    Does the smoke look like this ? If it does don’t waste any more money. DPF is the problem. 100% I went down same route.. injectors testing etc mine was due to a non genuine dpf. Replaced with a merc one all issues gone.

    I have a sprinter and I had a leak where the rear heater is on one of the pipes. I fixed the leak topped up with coolant and no issues for a little while but now I keep getting the coolant light appearing. Could I of got an airlock ? I’ve checked for sludge in oil and oil in coolant can’t see...

    It’s trying to regen something that doesn’t exist. If your oil level is going up that will be the unburnt diesel going into the sump. These sprinters are very sensitive when it comes to genuine dpf’s and hollowed out. Did it work fine after it was hollowed out.
