Automotive solutions in Ayr have quoted £295.97 for 5 year guarantee on battery and its Bosch. Still pricy but I trust them. So probably will go for that. Thanks to all who got involved. Appreciated!

Ta! Just phoning round at moment. Waiting on reply from Independent Merc garage in Ayr. 10 miles away from where I live. They are very good, know their stuff, and are - hopefully- reasonably priced.

OMG. £440.96 to get replaced. If battery costs £200. That’s £240 for max 1 hour work and use of IT. Someone justify that to me please? 🙏

Also, I use a battery “reconditioned” charger [mine is CTek, but pricy but 100% works. I “ look after” 7 cars at moment, and they all have good, but old, batteries.] You it twice a year on 8 batteries.

Hi All, Ta for replies. Been away for a bit working. I service all the families cars. So usually buy 4 or 5 litres brake fluid and do all 5 cars. Can I use dot 4 plus (LV, super, etc) on all dot 4 cars? All previous replies appreciated, yep it needs to be dot 4+ on merc. Confirmed.
