Having had K&N and the like in the past, I think the best thing about them in previous cars was the air induction noise but in terms of performance I rarely felt any sort of difference

i was pretty sure that insurance companies don't charge an excess if they are able to repair it, but do charge the excess if it is replaced. I would go via insurance personally as they use Autoglass typically who do this sort of thing day in day out and all in the convenience at your own home...

I would be surprised if relatively new cars suffer too much from not being driven for longish periods. My AMG has been off the road many winters and has had no direct issues as a result.

I saw a brave guy in a C63s putting his foot down in the snow yesterday. You could see him giving loads of gas and having to let off virtually immediately as the car constantly lost traction

I have run Continental Contact Sports and MPSS, both very good tyres. I would say though I think the Conti's felt more comfortable and had less noise.

I have to admit, upto now synthetic chamois for me has been the best product at lifting water off the car when it is extremely wet. It isn't as good when it comes to the final dry so I tend to switch to a microfibre cloth for the final drying steps.

Update - wheels have been changed back to OEM 19's and have taken a couple of the Carbon Fibre bits off and returned to OEM (rear diffuser and mirror covers). New Price - £17,995 Updated pics can be seen on PH if interested.

I think I am using what is synthetic leather, its by a brand called ArmorAll. I had it for a few years and I think its now lost its effectiveness so hence looking for an alternativw.
