Glad you've put alot of effort into this topic already. I've got the same spec car but its a 2012 with 150k. Over the past 3 I've put 50k of that on it including 2 laps of the nurburgring and living near an autobahn. I've just done an oil change and general look over the car since its started...

That is the diesel leak off pipe from the injectors. It will run with it disconnect but will piss diesel all over the place. Probably a cheap part from Mercedes but I have no idea what the part number is.

Finally got round to changing the thermostat whilst doing the oil cooler seals, and all seems good on the temp and oil leak situation. Though now its got fault code p0101 - Maf sensor out of range, yay..... Loving Mercedes ownership so far..... o_O
