    E43 AMG owners thread

Walked past my car tonight parked on the drive and noticed all the seat adjustment buttons and the clock and other buttons on the centre console were illuminated. I though perhaps this was just fluorescence but then I double clicked my remote lock button to see what would happen and they all...

Makes sense. Think I must have lucked out with cheaper tyres.

    E43 AMG owners thread

Sorry for the slow response, finally got round to checking the tyres today. Yes my fronts are down to 3 and 4 mills and the rears are at 6. The nearside tyres seem to be wearing faster. Skipping happens at slow speeds at all temperatures, with moderate lock. I have yokohama tyres on mine...

    E43 AMG owners thread

Sounds like you've had a few issues! My start stop was working consistently after they replaced the battery. Then I went on holiday for two weeks leaving the car parked. I think that drained the battery significantly as it stopped activating again so I have now recharged it. Yesterday the...

    LiveTraffic not working

Worked for me tonight., showed a delay which was pretty accurate.

Good to know thanks, yeah I've decided to ignore the windows open thing, it's easy to clear after all.

    LiveTraffic not working

Nice! Maybe they didn't pay the bill?

    LiveTraffic not working

Noticed I ended up in a couple of queues at the weekend and there wasn't the usual delay time shown so quite possibly I have the same, or there just want any available info, I'll keep an eye on it...

    E43 (maybe c43 too)

Fair enough I'll stick to cruise control from now on, my passengers will benefit. No real benefit to the E dynamic mode then really is there!?

    E43 (maybe c43 too)

So when i start the engine and don't press the throttle I'm using no fuel? You're right in that fuel injection systems reduce the fuel intelligently when under engine braking however I'm sure they're doing the same thing in the gliding mode otherwise what would be the point??? There are...

    E43 (maybe c43 too)

As long as the engine is running you're using fuel. The higher the revs, the more fuel. I'm sure they knew what they were doing when they put glide mode into the eco drive setting.

    E43 (maybe c43 too)

Guess that depends on whether the amount of energy glide mode saves is more than the difference between the energy I use speeding up again and what it would have taken to maintain speed. On cruise control it never glides and I did get a couple more mpg plus there were a couple of traffic jams...

    E43 (maybe c43 too)

Stop start has remained fully operational. Plus nearly got 32mpg out of it on a long journey today. Wife and son both said they felt sick after the journey, so that's a bonus! Perhaps it was speeding up and slowing down to trigger glide mode or maybe the one or two detours into sports+...

Does anyone use Mercedes me? Mine often says my windows are open and I'm wondering if I should ignore this or book it in yet again...

    New owner woes

It'll depend on the model you have as you whether you've got two then. My mercedes me only mentions one battery, it calls it the starter battery but it's the main battery. Start stop pretty much only works when mercedes me says this is 'charged' which now is almost always.

    New owner woes

The auxiliary battery? From what I've read it keeps the electronics at a stable voltage when the main battery's voltage is fluctuating during starting, and if you have any assist functions, they can go on the blink if there is a problem with it, but it can also affect stop/start operation...

    New owner woes

That sounds exactly like how mine was when they put a new battery in there but hadn't charged it. I drove it home for twenty minutes and it didn't activate. Next morning activated straight away. Might be worth charging it if you have a charger as it might be on quite a low charge that...

    E43 stop start

I can confirm that after the dealership replaced the main battery and after i charged it(which took the ctek a full day despite them saying they charged it) i now have consistent stop start despite several short journeys. It activates very quickly as long as the ac isn't having to blast out...
