Does my car have a DPF

Thank you for the link to the Vin decoder. It does not have option code 474, it has option 926, EXHAUST GAS CLEANING WITH EURO 4 TECHNOLOGY. Does this mean that it does not have a DPF? But uses something else instead? Intriguing indeed!

Does my car have a DPF

I have 2006 V6 E320 CDI. Does it have a DPF fitted? I haven't the faintest idea where it would be or what it looks like. Do I have to do anything to it? I've had the car for 7 months, 125K of which I've done 11K. Runs like A dream, no problems whatsoever.

    E320 cdi noobie questions.

I bought the same car 8 months and 10000 miles ago and, apart from having the conductor plate changed on the gearbox early on due to sometimes getting stuck in 2nd gear, it has been faultless. 36mpg combined driving and 40+ on a run. The performance is addictive, andI love driving it. Good luck.

    MPG

Some of the claimed E320/E350 CDI fuel consumption figures on this forum are very impressive. Mine is around 42mpg on motorway trips at 80mph cruise control. Tank to tank everyday driving, I get 35 to 38 mpg. I've tried all the diesel brands in my area,no real difference that I can detect...

    Tesco diesel

That's the one! I've used about half of it now, can't say I can notice any difference in the car. A few years ago people were sticking old chip shop oil mixed with a bit of acetone in their tanks, what happened to all that?

    Tesco diesel

I've tried all the brands on my E320 V6, always end up back with Tesco, mainly for the convenience of pay at pump! Don't notice any difference, consumption is always the same. As for engine noise, well, with the windows up and the radio on, I can barely hear the engine! So how can you tell? are...

    headlamp adjustment

I've had a 2006 E320 CDI for about 4 months, I love it but the dipped beam light leaves a lot to be desired. Fantastic on main beam but of course you can't stay on them for long. Any suggestions for improving/ adjusting the dipped beam would be gratefully received

    Diesel

Well that certainly explains the possible benefits of using the "posh" diesel. Tesco diesel where I live is £1.29/litre. I would imagine the BP stuff to be 10p more, I will go and check. The car would only have to achieve 3 mpg more to negate the extra cost, so well worth the experiment. On a...

    Diesel

I was surprised myself when I bought the car. I always brim it and divide the mileage by the litres and consistently achieve 37 mpg+. A tankfull will typically cover about half on longish (70 mile) trips and half on a 13 mile commute and back on country roads.

    Diesel

I run an E320 V6 and just use supermarket diesel. I average around 37mpg tank to tank and the car performs well. Does anyone use the posh diesel like the Shell or BP stuff and do you really notice a performance/consumption improvement? Just wondering, as the price difference is substantial.
