    GLC crabbing

I gave up with that rather silly man in the video after about 5 minutes. With all his slagging off of Mercedes, he seems completely unaware that this "problem" affects all sorts of cars and not just Mercedes. My previous car - a Porsche 991 - was MUCH worse than my current GLC.

    Rear seatbelt warning on startup?

Hi Recently taken delivery of a new GLC AMG 43 and very pleased with it too :-) However, something a bit puzzling, every time I start up, there's a graphic appears in the driver's display in front of you, showing a picture of the rear seat belts. It's clearly some kind of warning or advisory...

    Newbie wheel question

Thanks - useful info. But i haven't bought any wheels yet, so the measuring bit is quite tricky. Are the "holes" the same er "shape"? i.e. will a Merc cap definitely fit in another wheel's 75mm hole?

    Newbie wheel question

Sorry if this is a daft question, but I just don't know the answer! Are the centre caps for wheels generally interchangeable across brands? Is there some kind of standard size? The reason I ask, I am looking to buy a set of 19" wheels and winter tyres for a new GLC 43 AMG and I quite like some...

    hello chaps

Thanks mate - will certainly oblige! Anticipated delivery date is 1st week in November. Build date at Mercedes is circa 10th October IIRC. I'm currently debating whether to take delivery with a second set of 19" wheels and winter tyres. I've ordered it with 21's, which is probably a bad...

What do you want to know?

Interesting. I had a test drive of a GLC 63 two weeks ago (before I had heard of this issue) and at one point I had to do a U-turn in a lay-by. I had the car on full lock to do a 180 degree turn in a tight space, and there was no crabbing whatsoever. All I noticed at the time was that the...

What do you want to know?

I note there's winter tyres in the 21 inch size so maybe that's a solution?

What do you want to know?

Thanks Do you only notice it when e.g. parking? I've seen a YouTube where it happens when someone is just driving normally and turns a corner. This I would find completely unacceptable, but if it only occurs at near full lock when manoeuvring, less of an issue. My 911 used to do the same...

What do you want to know?

Thanks - so you mean MB are supplying all weather tyres with other wheel sizes but not with the 21s? Are there no all weather tyres available in this size? I'm reluctant to change wheels at this point. I think I'll see how it goes and if the car is unacceptable on 21s, then I'll insist MB...

What do you want to know?

21's. On the advice of the dealer actually. I was going to go with the standard 19's on the basis that the ride quality may be better and they are of course cheaper. But MB convinced me the ride is fine (which I did find to be the case when I test drove a GLC 63S to be fair) and they do imo...

What do you want to know?

Hi - I've been advised to post here, so hope you can help? I ordered a new GLC 43 yesterday and excited about my new car, have been doing some googling. I am a bit worried to read all these reports of "crabbing", i.e. tyres skidding and resultant juddering of the steering when turning at slow...

    GLC crabbing

Is this still a problem on new GLC 43's? Having just ordered one yesterday and doing some googling about my new (yet to arrive) toy, I am rather concerned to find these reports. Are MB UK fitting all weather tyres as standard now? Or have the fixed the problem? Or are they just carrying on...

    Stargard

Thanks mate. So long as they don't do any damage then, I guess I'll let them apply it.

    hello chaps

Thanks fellas I'll be honest, I've lusted after a GLC 63 or 63S with that ludicrously wonderful V8, but at £20k more than the 43, it was impossible to justify. But I'll be sure to post pics of the 43 and am sure I'll be delighted with it.

    hello chaps

Not had a Merc for many years although have owned many in the past. So I'm excited to be getting a new GLC 43 shortly. Looking forward to reading plenty of tips and tricks. Cheers Chip

    Stargard

Just ordered a new GLC 43 and the dealer said he'd throw in Stargard. However I am a bit nervous about frankly none too skilled labourers at the dealership slopping this stuff over probably not at all well prepped paintwork. And then making it more difficult to get the car detailed with the...
