I got my 270CDI done by GAD with EGR delete too. Anthony told me it might take a couple of weeks for the remap to really settle in as part of the process involves deleting all the driving data from the ECU. I have to say for me he was absolutely right, at first I could feel the increase in power...

Amazingly this has worked! All i did was hold the middle of the wiper with one hand and with the other hand push the blade end towards the windscreen. It probably only actually bent the arm 1-2mm towards the windscreen but the wiper now makes contact in the centre of the blade and wipes perfectly!

Reading some other forums/posts that it's a common issue with older MBs as over time the wiper arm can get bent back from frequently being raised up and down. Might try giving mine a bit of a bend back towards the windscreen to see if it does the trick to reset it

What year is your car out of interest? I wonder if it makes a difference?

So i got these wipers and i have to say I'm not very impressed with them. The ones i took off were not OEM but they fit the wiper arm so much better than these! The sliding mechanism on the OEM ones did not slide shut very easily and I had use some brute strength to push it closed once...

Do any of the eBay dealers do them? Had a quick look last night but couldn't see any for the CLK. What sort of price do you usually pay? Are they worth the money compared to other brands?

Hi all, Anyone got a good recommendation for replacement wipers for the car above? Starting to leave smears so i think they must be due for replacement.

Yes it really does! It's not suddenly turned into a monster machine, after all its still just a 270cdi. But it delivers the power in a lovely smooth and steady push, whereas before it would launch well but soon fade away.

Usually yes, but GAD threw it in for me since they turned me away the first time. Very good service from them, highly recommended. Oh and the PlayStation VR in their waiting room was a blast!

So... even though the CLK was down on power, the post remap gains have somehow come out as if it had full stock power! I'm very pleased with the result and can confirm the power delivery is so much nicer than before, silky smooth and refined torque no matter what speed the car is travelling...

Update: Got the car to my local independent, they confirmed it was the water pump failing. The bearing failed apparently. £78 for a replacement pump and 2.5 hours labour for them to fit it, all in with antifreeze, VAT etc £280. Quite happy it was nothing more serious (or expensive)!

i think (hope) the smoke whilst driving was actually vaporized coolant from the engine bay because once I'd stopped it was coming out from under the bonnet where it was vaporizing on contact with the engine. The liquid was bluish in colour and viscous to the touch but not oily so it seems to be...

Yes hoping it's simply a hose, but even a bad water pump is better than a cracked head gasket. I have a feeling I wouldn't have seen gushing if it was that though. (I'm no mechanic though)
