    Accident/Damage/Insurance....grrrrrrrrr!

Am genuinely very grateful for all contributions, however negative from my perspective. A range of views from people here really helps. Looks like I may be into a negotiation with the insurance company (theirs) via mine, or direct if I feel mine are not working hard enough, and we'll see what...

    Accident/Damage/Insurance....grrrrrrrrr!

No, I would not if it was a mere dent or ding where the area was small and may be relatively un-oticed, but this is damage almost all down one side..hence I think partial respray will be far more obvious...anyhow, we'll see I guess...cheers for thought, even if not cheering! :)

    Accident/Damage/Insurance....grrrrrrrrr!

I know you do not mean anything bad by this, but it is upsetting :-) But as per my reply above, I am not going to just give up trying to get a decent outcome based on at least had I not been hit I would have none of his fuss and be largely very happy with my car. I do not see it as reasonable...

    Accident/Damage/Insurance....grrrrrrrrr!

Appreciate the thoughts! Guess we'll see. If can get write off and repairs within that as best deal possible then ok, but I think the terms of my insurance and the no fault means I will argue hard to get her back as close to as was before the accident as possible...I just do not get that a...

    Accident/Damage/Insurance....grrrrrrrrr!

Much appreciate the effort and value of the replies. First off I reported the accident to my insurance company (AA) and they suggested tow relatively local repairers. I know i can choose but I took the view that as a no fault accident my insurer and their repairer are not motivated by cost...

    Accident/Damage/Insurance....grrrrrrrrr!

I appreciate the thoughts and the skepticism! I am awaiting a call to discuss with an engineer at my insurer. First of course my insurer is less motivated by cost, other than by not acting fraudulently towards the other at fault driver/insurer, so I am hoping that my insurer will agree to claim...

    Accident/Damage/Insurance....grrrrrrrrr!

Hi, been a while since visited. Done a fair few miles during COVID looking after vulnerable relatives. The old CLK still pulling well. Hoping all of MBUK hanging on in there as best as can in these tough times!! Meanwhile, though minor in greater scheme of things, a rotten, horrible, terrible...

    More exhaust pops and crackle?

Harsh? umm, tried to make fairly logical and at same time hammer home point to all, not just the poster that it is not all about the big I AM..thassall..if came across as harsh..maybe sometimes a tad of forceful rhetoric is what is required to get a point across when it is clearly unarguable...

    More exhaust pops and crackle?

:):):) Like it! Small flaw in theory..I have friends and family there, so my concern for them, and of course all who suffer anywhere from the not so mighty roaring of mice...still, can't escape your good humour! All best! Stay safe! Drive well, and not too noisily when ovvers are 'bout..deal? :-)

    More exhaust pops and crackle?

I am delighted to hear that. To those of you who think I am some old crank, you probably have not suffered from the clowns in some towns who seem to think more noise makes their tadgers bigger...like all such extension attempts, very medically unsound my Doc friend assures me i.e. doesn't bloody...

    More exhaust pops and crackle?

I am cool as , but thanks for concern.. I hope as a grown up (I hope! :-) you get and approve of my key points: 1. Possibly not good for car. 2. Can be very anti-social in the wrong, un-thinking hands. 3. If absolutely must, do think where you deploy and if near me expect a V sign...

    New E-Class Facelift

Had a Hillman Avenger 1500 as my first car...very nostalgic running around fully loaded with mates and on way or to some nonsense no doubt. Don't recall ;-) Pretty solid and easy peasy to fix with a spanner and a hammer only ;-) In 30 odd thou miles in 3 years as a student she didn't let me...

    More exhaust pops and crackle?

WOW. I had forgotten about this thread. 1. You have me beat by V2 and a few HP. Of course I am jealous. I would love a V8 and hope to trade up one day. BUT, jealousy is not the issue here young man. 2. At age 21 it is science that a male brain is rarely fully developed. That's a reason why...

    On the CL 65 theme...

Lovely lovely cars! But at what maintenance/servicing per year? Back of mind someone told me could be approx £6k per annum? Worth every penny if I had it! Some of sleekest Mercs ever, and such gorgeous blocks too.

    Opinions of a GT63 4 door

Think posted a pic of this from Goodwood FoS this year...Think looks better in flesh than in these pics which make the body look heavy in design terms I mean..pics 1,2 and 3 esp. Also think the window arrangement looks clumsy...but were I in the market i.e. had the wedge! I would love to try one...

    Mechanic West Midlands (Worcester)

I found Hayden in Moseley really excellent guys. Could not recommend highly enough! DOH RAY ME! Soz, well was last summer when used them so hopefully still applies as a rec for those in the vicinity at least! :) Actually think maybe still relevant to the later post by Decaf asking for a...

Headlights - new xenon bulbs or new units?

Well definite improvement, but still not happy. Think going to get the units checked over and see if new or tip top second hand replacements may be good idea or quick and easy cheap fixes to improve further. I do seem to get a lot of condensation in the units. Also suspect lenses could do...

remap c220 amg sport cdi ?

If I understand correctly from PCS rolling road figures are very unreliable..all sorts of technical reasons I won't repeat here - maybe they will comment...anyway, did my research and as far as can see Celtic are one of most reputable around. Figures may be approximate but can safely say the...

remap c220 amg sport cdi ?

I went Celtic via PCS in Horndean. Would imagine Celtic have local-ish rep to you. Quick and easy and about £350 ish I think. Great power and economy gains on mine. Think you can input car on their site and see what you can get with emphasis on either economy or power gains..but I seem to have...
