    W164 code help

    It could indeed be the issue. If the camshaft sensor thinks that the shaft is out of line (caused by a worn bearing say) then it would potentially knock it into limp mode. If the sensor isn't working you might get the same result. The sensor is about £30 and is a relatively easy replacement job.
