I didn't go ahead with this in the end - partly out of idleness, partly I'm not sure how much I want to modify the car as opposed to putting my phone in a cradle for better navigation. The thought hasn't gone away though so please let me know if you go ahead and how it works.

Thanks, Richard. When you say that you must completely use the CarPlay system, are you able to switch back and forth between the COMAND and CarPlay, or is this a one way update? I am also presuming that there is still no upgrades or alternatives to the original navigation system. Graeme

The rear diffuser of my S63 has been bumped and deflected enough to come away from the retaining clips/brackets, as shown on the attached (but not great) photo (Nice reflection of garage door, though). Can anyone tell me how this is attached or how to refix properly? Thanks .

Might be a silly question - has anyone had a service/repair done in Germany, if so how do the costs compare with UK?

I found some detail here A Service & B Service Visits Explained at Mercedes-Benz of Denver although I still don't understand why I can get more detail from the USA than I can in England.

I go for a mix and match approach. Mercedes contract for basic servicing and warranty maintenance etc (less than £40 per month on 2012 S63), but anything found on a report, go to independent - DDR in Ashtead, all Merc trained and Merc parts, but lower rates.

And another thing... How do others get around the issue of carrying a set of spare bulbs when driving in Europe? Xenon and LED bulbs not easily replaceable, less accessible and harder to buy but technically illegal not to carry them :wallbash:

Last two cars, S212 and W221 had adjustment via COMAND menu, before that (S211) needed the cover taking off the back of the headlight and moving the lever as already suggested - but you need very small, dexterous hands to access. I'd ask the dealer ;)

I've recently got my hands on an S63, set up Merc dealer service contract for minimum servicing/warranty requirements etc, but any extra work needed or recommended, go to DDR Motors in Ashtead, Surrey. Great service, very knowledgeable and a lot less than dealer with proper Merc parts.

I've got it and quite like it, but when the key is in the house overnight, I put it in a RF signal blocker pouch (£10 for 3 from Amazon), so that the code cannot be read. Works effectively, I can stand next to the car without the signal being detected.

Can anyone help with this? Right rear window switch from a W221 S63 is missing the switch cover for the rear pan roof. I have been to the stealer, who suggests that I need a part number A221 821 45 51 at the thick end of £200 for the complete switch assembly, but having looked through Ebay...

Just had my S63 done by "AllThatGleams", in Chilworth, Surrey, who reckon that GTechniq QuickDetail is all that is required after washing. By the way, great service from these guys if you're in the Surrey area, now just need someone to vacuum the roads before I go out.
