Check the maintenance records if they changed the gearbox oil last time. This should be done every 50k miles or so. Have you tried searching for the reset procedure?

Man, just have a garage with a STAR reset the EGS. It won't cost much (maybe for free), and you will get an idea of how it performs after it. Also, when was the last time you changed the gearbox oil?

I would gladly help you out, but I'm in Portugal. Do a search for "w203 auto gearbox reset" and follow the procedure strictly for what it is written. Maybe you have a good surprise. (Does your car has DPF, being an 02 plate?) Regards

Yes. Also check on the net for "autogearbox reset" and do it. won't do no harm, and it should be around here. That is a reset to the autogearbox.

DAS stands for Diagnosis Assistance System. The car will memoryze any fault that shows up in the car behaviour. Have you had your car reprogrammed?

At least to someone with DAS in developper mode. Intercooler clogged, MAP sensor and intake air valve motor can also cause that symptom. DAS should give a clue, but bill should only include the price of the defective components. Maybe you get lucky and it's only a leak in a vacuum line...

At least, go to another garage. Check the other thread.

Guys at the garage did not know what they were doing, or did not have the correct equipment. If they did, even if the fault was not present at the moment, there would be a menu with the "stored faults", which would be a good place to start from. I reckon being a 02 plate, it could have either...

Looks like your comand is configured to recognyze a cdc, and since you don't have one, it gives you that error

Does your car have that second battery beneath the aircon filter (I think)? Could be that...
