    Transmission issue

It's off to a specialist next week so will see what happens, was told a new conductor plate if it is that wouldn't need coding but my dad didn't fancy the job as he's recovering from a heart attack at the moment.

    Transmission issue

Conductor plate looks fairly common and not too tricky to replace so will see what happens.

Merc sell you a generic dipstick that you need to cut to length. A bit of a pita to be honest, I've been through all this.

Ive not driven it yet but the Transmission my Dads car has started to play up and just wondered where to start with it. 2004 C180K pretty sure its the 5 speed Auto transmission. Fluid replaced last year and car is on 78000 miles, no shifting issues until now. He said the shifts became irregular...

That's my guess, no chance the trader put a new one on really.

    That is correct.

    Correct Battery

This is the current and the number wasn't obvious to me. I'd expect a new Varta to do more than 4 years if cared for which is why I asked about the Agm as maybe the charging isn't correct.

    Correct Battery

I wonder could anyone tell me what is the correct battery for a 2005 C180K Saloon. It has a Varta AGM fitted at the moment but i believe its not correct, it was fitted when my dad bought the car 4 years ago and im assuming it should have a lead acid as standard. Needs replacing but dont want to...

    W203 C180K 2005 Dampers/Spring Refurb

Just following on from this, we purchased the springs from mb but went for Sachs dampers from Euro car parts which I’m sure are correct. we are not able to compress the springs enough to do the install, this is with a decent stand mounted spring compressor. Is there a special spring compressor...

    W203 C180K 2005 Dampers/Spring Refurb

Thanks for all the advice, tried mb for the parts and they want over £1000 for the bits which im afraid isnt going to happen. The springs are not too badly priced but the dampers are expensive.

    W203 C180K 2005 Dampers/Spring Refurb

Is there an easy way to tell if it has standard or sports suspension?

    W203 C180K 2005 Dampers/Spring Refurb

Ok thanks both. Do they use Sachs dampers as oe? if I leave the springs as they are and just go dampers and top mounts is it still best to go to mb?

    W203 C180K 2005 Dampers/Spring Refurb

I’d like to get some new dampers and maybe springs too whilst I’m in there, I don’t want to lower the car. Is it best to stay oem equivalent for the parts? Ideally it would be nice to buy a quality complete kit of springs dampers and top mounts But I’m not sure these are available. Thanks in...
