    Vito 120Cdi 3.0L V6

Still got mine too! 43,000 miles and relatively trouble free. Lots of EGR problems untill a software change in 2008. New front brake caliper & pads (under warranty). Been chipped from new with no problems. Heavy on tyres, now on 255/45r18 Goodyear FI. Only real fault is its total inability to...

Hi Weekso They are very expensive but there are a number of alternatives. Mine had Yokohama when I bought it and I have used Michelins since wearing those out. There are also Goodyear, Dunlop, Bridgestone, Pirelli and Continental available and all in stock with my supplier.

Mine has been really good since last visit to dealer and now has done nearly 18,000 miles. It did not have a new EGR at that time, only cleaned but a "significant" software upgrade. I have done several thousand miles since then on the same routes as before. Perfectly smooth but I feel very...

Hi Weekso Well I can say that the latest software has made a significant improvement. I am however lucky in that only a small prportion of my driving is in traffic jams. I only experienced limp home mode before the first software change to. Bill

Hi John If the fault was directly due to the tuning box I would not be taking the van to Mercedes. The box was fitted to take advantage of the high quality diesel in the UK with power up a little to saloon car levels & an improvment in efficiency giving slightly improved fuel economy. This is...

    Vito 120Cdi 3.0L V6

Hi my van is 11 months old and done 17,000 miles now. I have no intention of backing out of the vehicle, the EGR problem is a niggle at worst (light throttle & town work), & a delight most of the time. The symptoms are exactly the same with or without mods. Mercedes technicians prefer to have...

Hi Dieselman, No the fuel economy is the same or slightly better (will know tomorrow when I fill up). The dash display used to exagerate the mpg, sometimes ashigh as 36mpg. I put this down to the tuning box modifing the fuel pressure signal. The funning thing is now with box in exactly the same...

Hi Guys, Took my van back in last Wed 10th sept after taking off my tuning box & sprintbooster - symptons still the same. On a little jaunt round town with technician he could feel the holding back so proceeded to clean EGR again & reported it as very dirty, cleaned the oxygen sensor & loaded...

Hi. Just picked up on your comments last night. It certainly feels just like you describe and indeed has had a new EGR valve which made a short term improvment. I always use branded quality fuel and on each tankful a measured quantity of fuel additive as I am a bit paranoid of later higher...

    Fuel Consumption - Not bad!

I have a theory that the onboard display for mpg is set up by the marketing department so as to sell more cars. I have yet to find a display that is not a blatant lie! I would sugest that if you check the actual fuel used it is considerably different. My Vito regularly records 33 and 34 mpg but...

As I read this post I had a phone call from Mercedes and they are going to try and fix again on 10th Sept, so watch this space!

Hi Guys. I watch with interest this link. My van has now covered 15,500 miles and has the symptons back pretty badly again. Much worse when the air is hot and bucks like a bronco between 1,000 & 2,000 rpm on light load. Makes it a bitch (and throughly depressing) to drive in traffic...

Hi Guys. I mirror your experience and already feel the surging re appearing. If I restrict the exhaust gas content will that throw a fault code and bring in limp home as I guess the smoke content will be greater? Much as I love the environment I am sure my destruction of it would be less if it...

Oh Dear. I have been putting off reporting my experience on here but can no longer. My Sport-X has been running worse and worse over the last 4,000 miles, (now done 12,500). Exactly as you other guys describe with staggers, missfires and loss of performance and then limp mode. My journey to work...

Hi Thought I would share my experience of recall. Had it booked in last Tuesday at Willenhall, which is 60 miles from home but I was going past on way back from Bristol. I asked them to recalibrate rain sensor while connected and sat in reception for and hour and half before vehicle moved to...

Same here. No letter but rang dealer and going in on 18th. Mod is for revised engine managment software. Wonder if it will cancel out my reprograming?

I also have a tow bar but dont find the lower springs compromise its use at all. I changed them primarily because when looking at the vehicle side on the rear was noticeably higher than the front and now it is just a little higher. When I first had the van I fitted a rear antiroll bar (from the...

I have not had one yet either. Done 7500 miles now and had no running problems. Had to have both front seat covers changed. New front screen due to stone chip and subsequent crack. New quater light as some scroat broke in and have now fitted rear parking sensors. Cracking job with camera also...

    SAP Bluetooth Manual

Hi. I have been strugling with my COMAND since I got van, the dealer was none the wiser to. The big frustration I have at the moment is with the phone. I have a V2 SAP unit (they sold me a V1 first even though I specifically ordered a V2 because it remembered PIN no). With some difficulty I have...

Blotus, Have your wheel nuts gone rusty? mine went brown almost within days - dosent say much for Brabus bits. What problem have you had with arm rests? What did the trimmer do to your drivers seat? I just dont want to take mine back if I can help it. One thought I had - the fuel economy is from...
