Engine revving a bit high at 30mph

Normally this would just be the DPF regeneration - in gentle driving it keeps the revs at about 1500 - 2000 and at idle the revs are slightly higher than normal. After a few minutes it finishes and normal service resumes.

    W164 head unit playing up

No bright ideas, just random thoughts. Your phone isn't new but it might have had a recent software update that has changed its behaviour. That would explain why this has only started happening now. Alternatively, have you recently added some other electronic equipment such as a dashcam that...

    Parktronic system off.

Just ensuring that the ignition is off should suffice before plugging it in. Not sure about coding - WIS indicates that a new module needs to be initialised using Star but a used module will hopefully just work.

    Parktronic system off.

I believe it is in the front passenger footwell, on the bulkhead with the engine compartment. Fold back the carpet, detach the cover, and it should be behind there.

    Idle wonderings - SCR retrofit?

I guess that apart from the technical aspects of the 'upgrade', and the notorious poor reliability of the Mercedes SCR system, and whether the cost is justified given that you only occasionally enter the ULEZ, the big issue would be persuading the powers-that-be to change the official...

Will this amp - Sony XM-N502 Stereo Power Amplifier' be compatible my 22 Plate A class?

I can't imagine that a Mercedes dealership would want to install aftermarket equipment. A professional car audio installer with a good reputation would be the way to go so that they have the expertese to remove and refit interior trim properly and determine the correct wiring to connect in to...

Will this amp - Sony XM-N502 Stereo Power Amplifier' be compatible my 22 Plate A class?

I don't expect that many people on the forum will have thought about modifying the audio on a '22 A Class so you might get more reponses on a dedicated car audio forum or by talking to a couple of professionals. As your car is presumably still under warranty any changes you make would ideally be...

W212 E350 cdi emission update - possible to map over?

I find that mine increasingly goes into 7th by 60 mph after a small burst of enthusiastic acceleration - and not even full-throttle enthusiastic, but just enough to keep it from changing up by itself until I level off. Perhaps it is gradually adapting itself back to sense. To be honest, three...

    DAB signal drop S212

In terms of getting updated software installed, it can be made fairly fail-safe as long as there is enough storage for both the old and new code images within the MCU. The new code image is downloaded without erasing the old image, and a checksum is then calculated across it to confirm that what...

    Not sure what to do

Who said this is a very common problem - the mechanic? Did they say which bush they think has failed? Presumably the noise wasn't there before they did the work so you have to conclude that their actions have caused the problem.

    Mercedes A150 W169 Completely Dead?

Apart from not starting (although it starts fine with a bump start) is there anything else electrical that isn't working? If not, I wouldn't see the fuse box as the prime suspect at this point - I'm not ruling it out, just saying that there are other more likely contenders. The battery has...

Question on fold down seat. Can the W169 A160 passenger seat fold flat ?

If you mean can the seat back fold forward so that it is horizontal across the front seat base, for carrying long loads, then this was an option on 5-door models although I rarely see it fitted - there will be a release handle at the top of the seat back if so (3-door models have the release...

B class Windscreen washing system issue

Not clear what you mean by "I had to drive a few miles before the liquid reached the jets". If you need to run the washer pump for a while before water starts to come out, that suggests that a one-way valve in the system has failed, causing the water to drain back into the reservoir. If you have...

    S212 buying advice

BLUE-CY is short for "BlueEfficiency", which is just a marketing term for various efficiency improvements such as stop/start or intelligent alternator control; a BlueEfficiency-badged car may have some or all of these features. I believe that the term was used on Euro 5 vehicles but I'm happy to...

    S212 buying advice

I avoided Euro 6 (AdBlue) when hunting for my current car as it just isn't reliable enough for my use case (car often sits unused for weeks at a time, which tends to cause the AdBlue to crystallise and block the system). And France, at least, puts Euro 5 and Euro 6 diesels in the same category...

    Which VR ???

I had more success guessing the original acronyms than the BTHOOM one! ALT = Alternator VR = Voltage regulator DFM = Digital field monitor (indicates the output of the alternator to the management system)

Replace Tailgate on W204 C220 Estate

Without knowing your skills, strength and resources it is impossible to give a definitive answer. A tailgate is heavy and cumbersome and you'll need at least one other person, and preferably two, at some points during the swap. You also need to disconnect and reconnect the wiring looms and the...

    Norman Foster "fuelling station"

I have always thought that this approach makes a lot of sense, as it deals with the three big concerns that people have with buying electric cars: 1. Purchase cost of battery 2. Lifetime of battery 3. Time to 'refuel' (on long journeys) or lack of infrastructure to charge at home (urban/local...

    Issues After Car Wash

Seems that the right rear wheel speed sensor has malfunctioned due to the water, which in turn means that the electronic parking brake can no longer ensure that the wheel isn't turning so it is having a hissy fit. Likewise, the ESP module can't do its job properly without that speed signal so it...

Mugged by a NOX sensor on the last day of ownership

Was it a current code or a historical one? Did they clear the code and see if it came back again? What scanner did they use, and did they show you the code? Not that I'm suspicious.....
