    722.9 jerk / jolt 4th to 5th

I experienced a similar sensation on my 7g + box after a tranny service it would kick from 5th to 6th but all other gear changes were seamless as it was before I had the atf change. I had it carried out a few months ago and feels like it is becoming smoother from 5th to 6th as time goes on. My...

    722.9 jerk / jolt 4th to 5th

How was it shifting before having the atf changed ?

    722.9 jerk / jolt 4th to 5th

It’s always worth flushing the tranny as it helps to remove any deposits from the old oil. Chances are there’s still a lot of the older deposits still present..

That could be the problem then . Shifts should be smoother if done correctly but I’ve heard that sometimes there isn’t much difference

Depends on the age but you never said in you’re original post. But I think the advise is you get it done whichever comes first. Just because a car has done low miles doesn’t mean to say you shouldn’t get the gearbox serviced just depends on the age. And surely it can’t be a bad thing getting it...

Hi and welcome . What you lose on performance and a smoother drive compared with the e350 you will gain on better running costs in a e250. I owned a c250 cdi for a year which I absolutely loved (same engine as yours) but refinement was definitely compromised. I currently own an e220 cdi and I...

    Gearbox service - 2016 E class

I’ve read the same tbh. You’d think that dealerships / specialists would at least advise you about this especially to those who are complete novices when it comes to cars. I’ll definitely be asking them to drain the TC and pay the extra if needed.

    Gearbox service - 2016 E class

Surely draining the TC and filling with fresh oil is part of the job ?

    Gearbox service - 2016 E class

I recommend using PCS (prestige car service) in horndean. I’ve got my e220 booked in for Tuesday for a transmission service at a cost of £200 all inclusive. Can’t complain with that !

    Back to C class

Welcome back , good choice 👍 But I feel a pic is needed here ? 😁 Everyone is different when it comes to choosing a particular make / model and what they prefer but you’re absolutely bang on , Mercedes build quality is something else. After my c250 was written off in January ( rear wheel drive...

Wife wants a second hand e class

Hi I have a c250cdi and although it’s not an E which is what you’re looking to source it’s a smashing engine .. great on fuel economy and performance is more than good enough .. with regards to optional extras , try and find one with a PAN roof , floods the car with daylight but you have the...
