I have just received an email offering a test drive in the EQE and so have requested one from my local dealer. 👍

Mercedes Me - Remote heating UK

With standard modern JLR cars you can pre heat or cool the car with the app. It DOES start the engine to do this. There is also an optional Webasto diesel unit available and if present then that is used to pre heat the car. That has been been around for many years and used to be standard at...

Send Destinations from Google Maps to Comand Navigation

As you suggest, all this fancy tech only works free for the first 3 years. What it really means, is try later when you have renewed your subscriptions! 😭

I just hope that he is still OK and nothing has happened to him, the E Class was for his wife if I remember correctly.

Send Destinations from Google Maps to Comand Navigation

Once you are used to it, it is almost as fast as the direct method. Definitely much faster when it does not exist on the Mercedes map! :D

Send Destinations from Google Maps to Comand Navigation

That’s who I use the Google method, only a couple of seconds longer than the Mercedes Me direct method.

Send Destinations from Google Maps to Comand Navigation

Sure, it is down to where you travel, if you have an address then MM is great. I live in the country and tend to travel to places that do not have a standard known address and that is where Google maps wins. MM should have the facility to select a destination from the map and the it would work...

Send Destinations from Google Maps to Comand Navigation

By the way, I am not saying it is better, just a lot easier for the average person to get to places that are not covered by MM.

Send Destinations from Google Maps to Comand Navigation

It’s the only way to find remote spots! Try to find one of favourite hotels in MM, “les hauts de Loire” Google takes you straight to it! I rest my case! :)

Send Destinations from Google Maps to Comand Navigation

I am the "North" side of 70 and certainly pre GPS! I challenge you to drive to a remote part of Dartmoor and find a track without picking the exact location for navigation. Similarly when in France we go to very remote places and need an EXACT destination along a featureless road. Can you do...

Send Destinations from Google Maps to Comand Navigation

I prefer Google maps to the MM maps. Can you do the equivalent of dropping the pin in MM? I use that a lot to get to a precise point for the start of a walk and the correct entrance to say a country hotel. Sometimes you are taken to the wrong place.

Send Destinations from Google Maps to Comand Navigation

These instructions relate to iPhone and are probably similar for Android phones. If you are familiar with Google maps then this an easy way to send destinations to the car and avoid Post Codes, Road names, etc. Find the location area on Google maps Select the place of interest if marked...

    Locking car without setting alarm

Yes, you must disable tow-away before the ferry moves! Just lock the car as normal, no need for the metal key, just turn off the tow-away alarm via the app after you have locked the car. Alternatively turn off the tow-away alarm via the Comand screen before you exit the car, then lock the car...
