722.9 Auto box problem. No drive at all. Any help appreciated.

Very easy. Black cover on the bottom of the gearbox about 20mm by 50mm. Spin the engine on the front pully and undo the 4 bolts 14mm if I remember correctly. I know now as I've learnt my lesson. 😆

Flood water damaged c250d misfire and nox sensor fault HELP!!

Sump is plastic on my 220 om651. It's not an easy job to get the sump off as the steering rack and subframe get in the way. I did it a few months ago by dropping the frame as low as possible on the bolts and lifting the engine up with an engine crane on the front eye after undoing the engine...

Is there a way to unscrew this weird torx head without a special tool?

I got these bits in a cheap screwdriver set from wickes about 17 years ago for about £6. They have these on the water pump that i replaced on the om651 engine.

Update! Jobsworth was right. I've absolutely smashed the lugs off the pump but he has given the all clear for a rebuild of my box after a check over, so he is going to sort the parts out tonight and get on with it. Maybe get my car back on the road early next week. Probably looking at a bill...

722.9 Auto box problem. No drive at all. Any help appreciated.

Ok so the car is getting picked up this week sometime by a local Autobox repair centre. Spoke to the boss as he's on call this weekend and he said he feels my pain. Told me he will get the box off to inspect it and then let me know my options but I think we all know which way this is going. One...

I think your right but at 225 miles I think I will find someone local. It would be a good trip to go and pick my fully working car up though.

So that is why the error codes were leaning towards low oil level in the box as it had no pressure and if I had a Merc specific code reader that would have show up as low/no oil pressure probably.

Jobsworth just read your whole post that you linked in and it sounds exactly how I put the engine back onto the gearbox with an 8mm gap between the bell housing and engine thinking it was the dowels. :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash: Just wondering if I can phone in sick! The thinking...

And last question. If I trailer the car to a gearbox specialist what do you think the cost would be for them to sort it out at around £50ish an hour?
