In search of the antenna amplifier in 2004 c270 Estate W203

Thanks for your reply Chrishazle. Emailed your recommendation; no reply. Have realised that S203 means estate for car chassis W203. MB designation is C203.216 Station Wagon, hence S-LOL! Still in the dark as to what the circuit block contains or weather the symptoms are some other fault cause.

In search of the antenna amplifier in 2004 c270 Estate W203

I refer back to my post "2004, C 270, Est: No Radio Only Hiss" where I identified two boxes which could have been an antenna amplifier. No one seemed to know what they were. I have since identified a part from http://mbepc.net/1/fg/c/69j/203/0/82/345/#gsc.tab=0 for my specific model. The part...

2004, C 270, Est: No Radio Only Hiss

It looks as though no one is familiar with these boxes. Is there any other information which might help? In case the picture is miss-understood it shows the tailgate opened. The bottom of the picture is next to the hinges.

2004, C 270, Est: No Radio Only Hiss

Mercedes 2004 C-class 270 CDI Estate W203. Hi Folks, One day the radio stopped working. Not the whole of the Command unit; the unit works A-OK except for all the radio stations. The auxiliary input, CD player, GPS route guidance and DVD all operate perfectly. If the volume on radio is...

Help; W203 2004 Estate front under-frame rusted through

To round off this thread I can say the deed has been completed. The car went into an (independent) garage and in 2.75 hours the new "Support Bracket" (£50) had been fixed, recalcitrant bolts and all. Total cost 18% of that quoted by Mercedes for the wrong part! Thanks to all those who...

Help; W203 2004 Estate front under-frame rusted through

I did not go the warranty route Markjay because it isn't a sub-frame problem. It is a component support bent-up steel plate problem which can be replaced at very reasonable cost compared to a new sub-frame replacement. Saves wear-and-tear on the nerves.

Help; W203 2004 Estate front under-frame rusted through

Thanks Stratman. Noted. It's going to the garage anyway I am happy they know what they are doing. By the way Jackdaw should have been Magpie!

Help; W203 2004 Estate front under-frame rusted through

For those interested, I have now had this problem appraised by a Motor Structural Engineering Garage. It transpires that there is nothing wrong with the front sub-frame; incidentally this is reported as made of alloy. The offending part is a formed ferrous metal plate, a trivial part of the...

Help; W203 2004 Estate front under-frame rusted through

I finally have the full story of my FRONT sub-frame rust hole; it is a very small hole, does not make the car dangerous to drive. On my Mercedes the front sub-frame is covered so it cannot be seen without partial dismantling. If this had not been the case the car would have failed the MOT. It...

Help; W203 2004 Estate front under-frame rusted through

[It has popped into my head that there was a warranty, I might even be able to find the original paperwork. However, I am not the original owner.] It is a 4 year reliability package and a 30 year free breakdown assistance "mobilo-life*[ *terms and conditions apply.] I used that when a battery...

    Aged Mercedes owner since 1997

I have owned and crashed mercs and driven them all over france. I found the 2004 estate 270cdi an excellent example and am loath to let it go after 100,000 miles. However the time may have come!

Help; W203 2004 Estate front under-frame rusted through

My car has just passed the MOT at 100,000 miles. It is 16 years old of course but I was horrified to receive the information that the Front- sub-frame which holds on the wheels has a rust hole in it. The only accompanying information was that it was not part of the MOT test!!!!!!! Can anyone...
