    New lamp post(s)

Every structure has a finite life and concrete columns are no exception. There are commonly 2 types, Older ones, many dating from the early 1950's, contain steel reinforcing bars and later ones also contain steel reinforcement but the rods are pre-stressed. This allowed a slimmer style to be...

    Strange Lighting Issue....

I have an odd issue with the side lights on my W204. Last night I noticed the offside rear light was switching on and off at random with everything off and the car locked. I can only see the rears from the house but this morning a neighbour told me the front offfside was also on. I checked...

    Noisy Power Fold Mirrors

I will take the advice and change from auto to manual control and then use as and when needed. Its a bit disappointing though. I have owned a Citroen C4 Picasso that had auto folding mirrors and did almost 100k miles without fault.

    Noisy Power Fold Mirrors

Thanks everyone, it looks like PTFE spray gets most votes so I will get some and give it a try. Thanks to all for your response

    Noisy Power Fold Mirrors

ok thanks will try an alternative - maybe a silicone spray. Is the 'flexi' cover the plastic cover with inbuilt turn light and does it just need easing out with a screwdriver or similar?

    Noisy Power Fold Mirrors

Have tried spraying with WD40 probe around the joint where the mirror rotates but this has had no effect so far. Will try above the glass as well. Is WD40 the right product for this or should I be using something else?

    Replaced Brake Fluid....

That's why I went to the Indy. I suppose if their labour rate is relatively low and they can do it in 30mins or so then they could make a small profit and as you say they will no doubt hope you will use them again for something else.

    Replaced Brake Fluid....

If mine had quoted that, I would have looked elsewhere. I am sure a MB dealer would do it for less than that.

    Replaced Brake Fluid....

Not so - Tayna give very specific instructions for packing and in my case DHL are collecting it on Monday all being well

    Replaced Brake Fluid....

I agree completely - for something so critical as the braking system its a small price to pay and your suggested costs are spot on - I paid £60 with an Indy but could have paid £40 at National Tyres and Formula 1 but chose to pay the extra for peace of mind that it would be done properly.

    Replaced Brake Fluid....

Not specifically but Tayna charge £7.95 for delivery if you order directly from their website instead of with ebay when they give the price inclusive of delivery so that is what I would expect.

    Replaced Brake Fluid....

I have been in touch with the suppliers (Tayna) and have been given specific instructions regarding packing and they will then arrange collection from home. they will test and if faulty send a replacement and if not (apparently 50% of returns just need charging) I will have to pay postage costs...

    Replaced Brake Fluid....

Had the brake fluid changed today as my little tester showed it to be nearly 3% water! My car was serviced by the supplying dealer for the first 2 years and the fluid was changed at the last MB service in 2009. It has been serviced since then by a local garage and so far as I can see from the...

    CLK Camshaft Magnets M271 , P0020

So - today Ii fitted my Pierberg cam adjuster magnets and had no problems at all. The Pierberg items are absolutely identical to the MB ones that came off - even had the MB part number stamped into the casing. The only difference I could see is the Pierberg adjusters have a stick on ID with...

    CLK Camshaft Magnets M271 , P0020

Hi W1ghty Having fitted the oil blocking connectors to my car today, I had a more detailed look at the connectors and there is more oil evident than I had first seen and so following you again, I have just ordered 2 new cam magnets. I did intend buying genuine MB as you have done but having...
