    W220 2005 S500L Rear Brake Calipers

Having some difficulty getting existing calipers to stop binding. However, finding replacements is proving tricky.3-4 business days delivery and if they're not right no returns. Can anyone help?

    W220 Wanted - S500, S600, S55, S65 slight pref. for LWB.

After all but signing on the doted line last year, after finding a nice S500L but having to abandon at the last minute due to family circumstances, I'm back on the hunt for a decent W220. Slightly more pressing now as my S430 may not survive more than a few months due to the accelerating rust...

Why are wheel nuts tightened so much that they're almost impossible to get off?

When I first started using them 30+ years ago, they were the best around, great service, great prices and yes they did torque the wheels when refitting. Latterly, they still won't be beaten on price but that individual attention is missing as they are always busy. Some of the older fitters still...

Why are wheel nuts tightened so much that they're almost impossible to get off?

I had a puncture last night at slow(ish) speed when I misjudged a sharp kerb and hit the corner of it trying to fit in a narrow parking place. Anyway it was a complete and immediate deflation. When I got out the car to change the tyre it started to rain heavily( of course it did ). During the...

Recommendation for a body shop to respray W220 doors and wings in Essex

Looking for a good body shop in the southend on sea area in Essex although I'm willing to travel. Might only need doors and panels repainting but could be all of it. Speculative as I haven't bought the car yet (W220 S55), no rust (that I can obviously see), no bubbling but the paint isn't in...

    vito newbie here

Both of those are powerful solvents that might remove any symbols/icons at the same time. I've heard that Neutrogena makeup remover wipes work well and do not remove the symbols. I think you need to persevere and not rub too vigorously. Wipe in one direction. Some of the non-abrasive...

What to do if you see a car for sale from a dealer that you know has been clocked?

Was it not insured previously? I don't know if it was or wasn't. Did you use a public access to find this out? Or are you in the business?

🎉🎉🎉 For those that thought it mattered, and others, the dealer has now taken down the advert(s). The system does work!

Rodeo Test for ABC - Brave?

This one certainly does and I thing it was standard for post-facelift W220 S55. I've heard stories of ~£2000 a corner + £1000 for the pump. For a car costing less than £10000 now you'd need to keep a fair wedge back just in case.

Rodeo Test for ABC - Brave?

I'm half seriously contemplating buying a post-facelift W220 S55. I'm wary because ABC suspension issues are generally expensive in particular. I have seen no bills for any ABC related work. The car has done close to 100,000 miles. With this mileage would I have to replace the suspension...

    W220 S500 Tyre recommendation?

Does anyone recommend filling with nitrogen? Is it practical, except for when you get the tyres fitted? How fast does it leak? etc.

What to do if you see a car for sale from a dealer that you know has been clocked?

I feel as though you are trolling. How can it possibly be genuine. I know the truth because I had the car inspected, have sat in it and actually driven the car. The new owner in the last year did at least 15,000 miles which he has taken off the clock. It only looks genuine because he was smart...

What to do if you see a car for sale from a dealer that you know has been clocked?

Well I would say that it probably had a sheltered life before the last owner acquired it. I know he was from one of the old eastern bloc countries and he was talking about driving back there for Christmas when I was chatting with him. He was using the car daily for his commute and it was parked...
