Urgent Help Needed: C220d 2016 Turbo boost lack/loss

They have throttle, but it's used very differently to a petrol engine. Yes, in a Diesel under normal operation the throttle is fully open, speed is controlled by fuel flow. The throttle is used for other purposes though: EGR flow relies upon pressure differential between exhaust and intake...

Urgent Help Needed: C220d 2016 Turbo boost lack/loss

Usually the ECU commands the the throttle to be closed when an overspeed is detected. No need to shove a rag in the intake any more.

    EGR system removal.

No, it's operational at all temps. In fact in the early days of EGR it would be deactivated it at low temps as it could cause combustion stability problems Post dieselgate that is seen as cycle beating, so they have to use EGR unless it can be demonstrated it is would be impossible to do so.

Disabling Adblue/NOx Sensors via Vediamo or Xentry

This thread was about SCR, not EGR. SCR doesn't really do much at idle, so testing NOx at idle won't tell you much about it's efficacy. Sure there are analysers to test NOx and parts, but those don't come cheap. So if MOT stations had to install those, they wouldn't be happy. Then, to test...

Disabling Adblue/NOx Sensors via Vediamo or Xentry

I can't see how they'd introduce NOx and PM testing at MOT. Measuring at idle wouldn't be sufficient, so it would mean all stations would need a dynamometer as well the gas analysers.

Vito 2011 110CDi - poor idle when cold

Only if when you replace the injectors they have valid characterisation codes and you program into the ECU. The other correction mechanisms do not have the authority to compensate for wrong or incorrect characterisation codes.

Vito 2011 110CDi - poor idle when cold

Injectors have a characterization code which is used to correct the whole fuelling/pressure range back to nominal. This compensates for manufacturing tolerances. If the injectors are dismantled, this is no longer valid. I'm not sure if remanufactures do or even can measure and create new codes...

    Multiple Sensor Fault Codes

The module is the one reporting the fault. With the diag tools that use the manufacturer services they will clear show the faults for each module. With those generic OBD2 readers I guess it may not be as clear as in theory any emission relevant module could respond and the tools vary in quality...

    Multiple Sensor Fault Codes

With a generic OBDII tool you have to be careful, descriptions aren't always correct Sensors, eg pressure, temperature position etc are powered from a 5v supply in the module, so checking fuses won't help you. Actuators like solenoids and motors will usually have a supply from a vbatt source...

iCarSoft OBD Fault Reader/Clearing Device Review + ***Forum Discount Code***

None of the manufacturers provide this data openly, well not for free anyway. They will sell this data, but low end tool providers don't purchase it. Most of this data comes from companies that reverse engineer the manufacturer tools and sell the data on. The likes of icarsoft are at the bottom...

I've seen Launch CRP919X and CRP919E units are under £400 and boasts DOIP, but never tried one.

E280 CDI Air Intake ..OEM or aftermarket??

O2 sensor has nothing to with DPF. It's used by the fuel mass observer. That's a system that compensates for drifts in fuelling and air mass.

    Aftermarket callipers for W211

I had a caliper on the rear of my S211 that was getting hot and not sliding. Took the pads out to inspect and found caliper wasn't sliding on the pins. Ordered some new pins and pads. When I came to fit the pads I found I couldn't push the piston back in either. With only 2 days until my MOT I...

    open circuit

You only had to check the pins, no need to replace. Even if opened out they could be closed back up. You have got the correct injector haven't you? Doing the short circuit test would prove that. Disconnect the others one at a time and check the open circuit codes these give to confirm too...

    open circuit

Open circuit is clearly electrical. You can get a cylinder balance/contribution fault that indicates performance of that cylinder is low. That is not electrical. You have to look at the description carefully.

    open circuit

Whoa, test test test before you throwing parts at it. Electrical issues should be easy to test, much easier than the such and such signal is implausible type. Even without any electrical test equipment there are some things you can do. Unlike most other components injectors are switched on the...
