    Clk 320 just died.

I thought it might be just my regular key, but I noticed the last time out that the spare key has started doing the same thing.....turns in the switch but absolutely no recognition from the car that I want to go home! Ungrateful thing it is. Interestingly it is only occasionally so not...

    ATF Change

Earlier CLKs were not on the MB schedule for an ATF change. But the later ones are......around 35,000 mile intervals from memory. I believe that's because of transmission failures at high miles. So yes...I wouldn't hesitate. If you're keeping the car I'd get it done.

I have a similar problem.....did you resolve this?

    New Mac software

Exactly that for me......the download phase took about 45 mins, the install about 25 mins then on Restart.......total freeze up. Did this twice (found how to reboot it when frozen), but same result. This being about 1.30 am by this time so shut the lid! Many curses and all ready with call...

    Potential New CLK owner

Why do you not love your wife as much as the car colour?.... I had a 54 plate 270 and that was just clear of the Valeo problem. There was never an MB recall that I'm aware of. Have you checked if the radiator is in fact a Valeo item? I believe some have a name on. Or it could be made by...

    Continental V Avon

After Continental put me through the mill over a full set of 4 faulty tyres I'd never buy them again. I got a money refund after about 3 months - but you'd think they'd have moved heaven & earth to make me happy after their own failure to recall......I should have reported through DVLA but...

    Break fluid servicin?

I've got a 30 year old Mazda RX7 with original callipers, seals and everything. All working fine. No problems for the future either that I can see. Brake fluid changed by me every 2/3 years or so. Fluid cost is next to nothing, it's just the time. PS Don't forget the hydraulic fluid if you have...

Advice on buying clk 320 cdi

I've had a lot of engine oil leaks in my 5 years since new - my 2009 car being around the end of the line. The transmission has been out once and it's also had a new sump. Touch wood all seems fixed now and going great. The average mileage stated at 36mpg is about bang on according to my...

57 Plate 320CLK CDi - Engine cover and mob Phone!

The cover takes a bit of a 'whack' downwards to locate it - these are substantial fittings. Pretty sure no bluetooth on car sorry, they were phased out in 2009 so design is quite old. As far as I know you have to buy an appropriate phone cradle to sit in the armrest......the old way of doing...

    320 cdi

In respect of continuous monitoring, I'd have thought everyone would want a heads up if anything went haywire on the engine. A continuous record is so simple to implement and any variation from seasonal norms stands out like a sore thumb. And my sign-in includes 'codger' so after 50 years you...

    320 cdi

2009 CLK 320CDI V6 = 36.4mpg over life of car.....23000 miles. All logged by fills brim to brim and entered on a computer spreadsheet. Gently driven for the most part.

    320 CDI advise

As said previously check the service records for Autobox fluid changes. It's in MB's service schedule now for the newer W209's. Around 40K; so a record showing two changes would be great. Ditto brake fluid - every 2 years is in the schedule. The body can exhibit a little bit of flexing noise...

2006 CLK 220 Glove box lid

My w209 2009 CLK glove box lid was changed out by the dealer under warranty.....trim coming unstuck. The dealer thought a pre-ordered lid would be better than resticking. I didn't argue. Sorry that I don't know how it came off. It seemed a simple proposition to him though.

    Yet another kwikfit suck thread

From memory you joined Warranty Direct and that entitled you to a 'free' MOT at Kwikfit....... Result...."Oh by the way Sir, you need new pads and discs for the MOT". No Thanks. Before this 'Commercial Deal', (Accountants have no doubt dreamed this up), I had Warranty Direct high in my...

    Yet another kwikfit suck thread

Anyone noticed that Warranty Direct has teamed up with Kwikfit to offer MOT's? That suggests that Warranty Direct just don't know what the general opinion of Kwikfit is. A right turn-off that is for me...... Amazing

    Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

No, No, I didn't follow the plot either but what a great film. Gary Oldman.....spine chilling portrayal of Smiley.....Ruthless if he has to be, dead sinister, unsmiling, thinking all the time yet totally incorruptible. I was riveted to my seat. My Missus loves spy movies, she adored it
