    Insurance renewal AMG E55K

I just renewed at £490 with no mileage limit, mind you the broker that I used to use wanted £970 I rang Locktons who do my Aston and down it came!

    Will it snow?

I can guarantee that is won't snow this winter, I have just bought a snow blade for my Countax Garden tractor!

Just thought I would show you my effort at going Green

I have got the green thing down to a tee thank you, my Disco 3 is also green:D The AMG however is not:o I know what you mean about the bow wave of sound, it is immense! Small children weep with fear of it's arrival.

    E55k Estate 10k

May be worth a look then, I have always fancied one and if it is in good condition it can have a place in the garage beside my other toy!

Just thought I would show you my effort at going Green

That's about right! The last couple are mine though, as you can probably tell:o Thanks all, it has always been a favorite of mine, I did have another one, but that had to go to allow for a familly wagon. Mind you, it wasn't a patch on this one!

Just thought I would show you my effort at going Green

Hmm It's not that early! It is March 1979, so OI, but yes someone has spent a lot of money on it, I have the full file! And yes it is the one from the Aston Workshop:thumb:

    E55k Estate 10k

Hi all I have been away for a while, very busy! Yep the car was not sold! 0 rated bidder, no contact, even bid twice! So I realised that the price may have been optimistic on Pistonheads, and have reduced it to £15500, but to be honest I think I am going to keep hold of it:D I have had all the...

    CLS Grand Edition

Hmmm as much as I like Mercs the chalet is a keeper:ban: Changing a 55 for a more expensive 55 just doesnt make sense to me, and the 63 really isn't that much more powerful. Perhaps I will just get the Grand Edition and tell the Missus that I can't shift the 55:rolleyes:

    CLS Grand Edition

32 mpg:eek: So you got her to drive it onto the trailer and then set off...... Ahh I get it 23mpg, you just typed it wrong:D

    CLS Grand Edition

On a run I am lucky to get 23 mpg, the problem lies with the amount of power available and the exhaust tone when the loud pedal is tickled:o I have decided that I will carry on running the 55 until it gets to a point where I can justify buying a new car and keeping the AMG.......another 7-8...

    CLS Grand Edition

I think that I may just stick, the 55 is great, why change? The Missus will be dissapointed, but hey ho she'll get over it!(Perhaps:o) Thanks Guys!

    CLS Grand Edition

The new one just hasn't grown on me, maybe it will, who knows:dk: I see where you are coming from though.:thumb:

    CLS Grand Edition

Thing is I could get a CLS55 or 63, but, I wouldn't change mine for one, it just doen't make sense! Different frock and all that! The main thinking is that My Chalet is around 1000 miles away, gets bloody expensive in a 55!

    CLS Grand Edition

It was the IL6, but comparing to the E55...therein lies the issue:crazy:

    CLS Grand Edition

I had a E320cdi before, so am fairly well versed, but the 350cdi V6 I have not experienced yet. 2.5 yrs of warranty is tempting and the CLS with the AMG Body kit does look good, am I being stupid though?

    CLS Grand Edition

Oh and anyone after a cosseted E55K Estate:D

    CLS Grand Edition

Just considering changing the E55 for a CLS Grand edition, I have come across one with pretty much all the toys including Airmatic for £35990 on a 60 plate with 6000 miles on. A dealer demonstrator. Palladium Silver with Black leather, almost perfect. Soooo can anyone find one cheaper with...

A disregard for the safety of everyone.

I have to admit to having had a blow out the other day due to worn joints on my rear suspension arms. On a motorway at night, all good fun. It was only when I removed the wheel that I saw that both rears had been travelling on about 2 cm of the inside edge. I had checked the tyres and the rest...
