    W203 C270 starting problems...lots of things discounted.

Thanks for that guys. Luckily it is also under warranty, it's just frustrating! I might pop the drivers side fornt wheel off today and have a quick squint at the links and see if I can find the offender. As for the pressure test, I wasn't present so couldn't say categorically under what...

    W203 C270 starting problems...lots of things discounted.

Hi all, finally decided that it was time to leave the XJ8 at home and bought a 270 in August for my fairly frequent when-I'm-not-working-from-home commute. Bought it from a MB specialist it was a one private owner main dealer trade in, overall very nice and very well speced, 68k. The...

Black 190e 25-16 heading south on M3 yesterday afternoon

Absolutely. I just don't understand the mentality of this. What does it prove to tailgate another driver at 80? A total disregard for the safety of another motorist is all that comes to mind?

    W203 Vent motor/servo location

Sorry to drag up this old thread. Was the problem with this vent/servo causing an irritating knocking type noise as it tries to open? I think this is the problem I have. Seems to persist for a minute or two after start...very annoying!

    Lamborghini Estoque - 4 Door Hyper-coupe - Offical pictures!

Don't get me started on products of the Chrysler Corporation...too much time behind the wheel of them as a consequence of work being incapable of booking me a European hire car when working in the US...but it is very much a matter of taste. I reserve particular bile for the 300C! ...I'll shut...

    WantaCL now wants a W220

I tend to agree -I think this illustrates that well... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=150300170763&Category=9855&_trksid=p3907.m29

    WantaCL now wants a W220

I've had the current car 14 months or so...I think there have been people in the back on about 5 occasions!

    WantaCL now wants a W220

I think the thing to do will be to have a drive of both the SWB and LWB. I'm beguiled by the equipment of the LWB and like people to be impressed when they travel in my car but equally I never get the benefit! In terms of upgrading, parktronic would be welcome, although 4 years of Jaguar...

    Lamborghini Estoque - 4 Door Hyper-coupe - Offical pictures!

Dodge Charger look-a-like. Definitely not something it ought to be capable of being compared with!

    WantaCL now wants a W220

Exactly, almost more 500's than anything else - suits me fine! And indeed, 4.3 v. 5 unlikely to make a difference in practice, as I said, 3.2 (205bhp)was way thiristier than 4.0 (290bhp) as it worked so hard (don't quote me on those figures but they're about right). If there is corrosion but...

    WantaCL now wants a W220

Thanks again for all the informed responses. My first Jaguar was a 3.2 with the AJ16 flat 6 and while adequate, it was thirstier than current 4.0 V8 and was an effort to get going - not effortless and as you rightly said ***, that sort of performance is not luxurious. I wouldn't discount a...

    WantaCL now wants a W220

Many thanks for that. Indeed I did mean the W220, I even had tat in my mind when I was typing the original post - some typograhpical Freudian slip had me typing W221, which is sadly way outside current budget. Lots of useful information here. Particularly interested in your comments of LWB...

    Time for new motor

Phaeton 4.2's seem impossible to get hold of, none in the dealer network, nothing in ebay - have been keeping an eye open for a while. W12 is just too thirsty...for me at least. It's such a heavy car, even compared to the competition, none of them are particularly impressive in economy terms.

    WantaCL now wants a W220

I came to the board earlier in the year thinking it was time to be rid of the XJ8 and move over to a C140 shape CL. Drove several, couldn't find one that I felt was really what I wanted for one reason or another and ultimately didn't feel it was quite the car I was looking for. Still with the...

It is something of a leap but I've managed over the course of a few years to convince her that buying big, quality cars is often, certainly, in my experience often a very shrewd thing to do. Are electrical faults with the various interior appointments a problem, electric mirrors, seats...

Hello. I've just joined the board, I'm Rick, I live in Sheffield, currently have a Jaguar XJ8 but frequently find myself glancing longingly at the equivalent MB's. As the name suggests I'm seriously thinking about a CL, or more accurately my OH is. She currently has a Fiesta which she had since...
