    Goodbye S211 - Hello Sportbrake

Thanks matey! :) And here's the proof. Crap photo, I know, but you get the idea...

    Goodbye S211 - Hello Sportbrake

Snap! That's my view also. On both counts. True - mine's been in to have the 'tank slap' fixed (v. common issue), and now the washer bottle is leaking and/or the level sensor has developed a fault. Both common issues. But that's what warranties are for, eh? Happily my experience of Jaguar...

    Breakfast meet Friday 30th December

A great way to while away a couple of hours or so. :) Good to meet old foe - and new. One of the few occasions where the amount of fuel used (150-mile round trip for me) was considerably less than the amount of screenwash used. Fuel = exactly 50MPG. Screenwash = 27MPG.

    Yadgar curry

Great evening in great company. Thanks to the Scots for a warm welcome, if not a dry one. :) And thank you Harry for organising. Food was bountiful and excellent. Will defo have to do this again. Top way to spend an evening - even if that evening didn't end until 3am. :D

    Happy Birthday Corned!

I only came on to the forum to check in on Charles' XKSS thread, and saw this. What a lovely surprise - especially as I'm an outsider and defector all in one! Anyway - many thanks indeed to all. And the Jaaaag is treating me very well thank you. Just looking for a set of...

    How do I love thee?

Despite how one or two might view me, I'm not much of a materialist. The XKSS is a notable exception however. I would willingly do a lot of very, very bad (but lucrative, obviously) things to put my hat in the ring for one of those. Or a real one, for that matter. And I'm no stranger to...

Anyone Interested In A Guitar Thread?

Aye, that I am. It's quite sinister, really.

Anyone Interested In A Guitar Thread?

Here's my small contribution to this thread. Yamaha RBX270L which is my main weapon of choice. Dean PBCE is a recent acquisition, and I love it. The old Hondo in the background is what started me off, and got me my first of two "Top Tenuous" claims in Rock'n'Roll when I bought it as a 17-year...

Bye Bye W211 - Hello Jaguar XF

Spot on, absolutely spot on Lawrence. Ride comfort is a combination of things. Firm springs aren't in themselves a problem. But they do have to be very well damped in order to work properly, otherwise 'firm' becomes a euphemism for 'crashy'. Happily the XF combines 'firm' and 'well damped'...

    Goodbye S211 - Hello Sportbrake

D-18's post reminds me I've been fiddling with my motor recently. The dashboard wood blade was a different wood to the rest of the trim. Bizarre. So I sourced a new trim piece of the matching kind, which was from salvage and a bit scuffed and scratched, but cheap. Very cheap. So I sanded it...

Bye Bye W211 - Hello Jaguar XF

I can't fault your choice, my friend. A lovely example - congratulations! I'd asolutely hate to think that I might have influenced your decision though... :D:D:D I have to agree with your slight disappointment about the lack of a temperature gauge - I forgot to mention that in my thread...

Own up - who left this on my Jaguar?

Congratulations, Charles. She scrubs up beautifully! That AJ16 lump is a great workhorse and very smooth. Never seen a smoky one either. Our old X300 was a 3.2 Sport in Sapphire with Charcoal upholstery. The wooden wheel was a revelation. Very tactile, very shiny, but gripped your hand...

Own up - who left this on my Jaguar?

Perhaps we Jaguar defectors need a sub forum of our own on here. Best of both worlds! I must say, having returned to Jaguar after a prolonged absence, I do feel as if I'm home again. The Mercedes, whilst a worthy car, was just too heavy and ponderous, needlessly complicated, and unreliable...

Rear 'A' frame bushes too, but apart from that they are bulletproof. And when did you last see a rusty one? ;)

    Goodbye S211 - Hello Sportbrake

Yeah, that's what they said originally, but maybe it's finally dawned on them that the sales they're hosing away to Ze Germans is a rather bigger threat than options in their own model range. I guess their marketing guys aren't/weren't too bright - proved beyond doubt by the naming of the new...

    Goodbye S211 - Hello Sportbrake

Hello Charles. Thanks for your kind words. The dealership was a very pleasant place to while away an hour or so. I can't get to grips with the coal-hole interiors of the sport XE, especially with the huge wide B pillars. It looks really oppressive in there. The lighter interiors however are...

    Goodbye S211 - Hello Sportbrake

Hello, matey. Was looking to have its inaugural run out to see you on Friday. Alas it was not to be. Next time!! I have a suspicion I know the guy you know in the bodyshop trade. I@ll bear the 'box fluid recommendation in mind mate.
