Noises when car starts to move

Get the noise sorted now. I had a ball joint snap on me after I ignored the creaking for a short time. Fortunately the car was only going at a walking pace at the time so no other damage was caused, others have not been so lucky. The ball joint is cheap and easy to replace so you...

    Urgent help needed

It could be the main ignition relay. This was a problem with 1990-1994 Honda Accords, the solder in the relay was breaking up and when hot would open up, preventing the engine from starting. I know it's not a Honda but............... you never know?

    dell printers

I got a free printer with my Dell computer a few months ago. Once the ink ran out I worked out it was cheaper to buy another (better) printer than replace the Dell cartridges which were going to cost £50 for one colour and one black cartridge. I got an Epson photo printer for £80 which uses 6...

    300 TE starting problems

I've had similar problems with my 300te. The last time I serviced the car was January this year, when apart from the normal parts changed, I changed the fuel filter, plug leads, distributor cap and rotor arm. The last time was after a two week holiday, it started and drove OK until after...

Problem with self levelling suspension on 200TE 1989

I have to differ on Andy's diagnosis, the car should sit level and square when parked, if it sags then the rear sprngs are shot/broken. Changing the rear springs is cheap and easy to do. Once the car is set up properly on a new set of springs, that's when you start to mess about...

    Broken manifold>

I've had broken manifolds on two previous (non MB) cars. The first was a 3.5 Range Rover I used 'off road', this manifold had split right in two and would have cost more to mend than replace. The cause of the break was more than likely impact to the exhaust system. I ended up buying and...

Changing brake pads / fluid W124

Well done with the brake pads, £45 isn't a bad price for dealer supplied. :bannana: As for the fluid, you were the one who mentioned dot 5.1. Dot 4 will do just fine, 1/2 pint per corner seems a bit excessive though. I would have thought a litre would do the whole car...

Changing brake pads / fluid W124

Appears your question has been ignored up till now, so here's my twopence worth. 1 In all the times i have changed brake pads I have never replaced the caliper bolts. Once you have the calipers off clean everything up and use cellulous thinners on the discs. Smear some copper grease on the...
