UPDATE: Well, considering I just dropped the car out of the blue (or towtruck), I still received a quick professional service. The fault was traced to a failed No.5 injector. Thanks as usual to Olly and Jack at PCS. :thumb:

The car let me down this evening... The original symptom was engine cranking but not firing - there were no error messages displayed at the time. I knew I was getting low on fuel, so I put in 5 litres of Diesel from an emergency can, just in case... It still failed to start so I called the RAC...

I had no idea it was called cous-cous. At home it is always referred to as "cous-cous ****"............:p

I think they referred to it as a CL203.

Do you know what? I reckon the C270 may be class leading fuel consumption. Mine never ceases to amaze me - considering it's size, the 5 pot diesel is a great choice. The Elegance trim provides a softer suspension and a comfy ride (very few crashes and bangs on crap roads) - not for track days...

There's a time and a place for all options. In my W203 wet/icy/snowy/economy = W (winter) and dry/quick = S (summer). W is also kinder to the tyres since it uses 2nd gear to pull away and changes up quicker. :-)

My 2003 C270 CDI's engine temperature runs at 75C most of the time - barely reaching 80C on occasions. Is that OK? :dk:

I had a company car for 15 years before opting out and providing my own. In the days where I did a significant business mileage (i.e. >20000), I never made a profit. The car always seemed to need a repair or service that wiped away any money I had saved due to opting out.... Business Mileage is...
