i hav'nt had my 1999 clk 320 cab for long, its averaging about 18mpg around town at the moment is that about right? cheers.

i did'nt know the central locking was pump activated, i thought it may have been something to do with the roof mechanism.

I have 2000 clk cabriolet, can somebody tell me what the unit is in the boot on the drivers side behind the side panels (behind o/s rear light) it is inside some foam foam and has yellow pipes coming from it....

Just been out again but with a proper ratchet and not my mickey mouse one and this time i removed the bolts and applied a bit of grease, End result no more knocking, cheers for your help...

Thanks for the photo, i have just been out and tightened the 2 bolts, they did'nt seem to be loose but i did get an extra turn out of both of them, hopefull that may cure it it.

Can anybody throw any light on this , it really spoils the driving pleasure.....

So i've been told but for the life of me i can't find where its coming from, it sounds like its near the rear o/s window, it only does it when the roofs up so i'm presuming its something on the roof mechanism..

Mine looks different to that i have just removed the top of the switch and theres a printed circuit board underneath. heres some pictures, sorry about the quality In the middle of the board is a small raised piece with a slot in it one side has a metal contact and the other is just plastic...

it seems to move ok is it possible to clean the switch?

i have a choice of S or W its always in S, i hav'nt had the car long so i'm not that familiar with the merc gearbox.

My CLK 320 auto seems to pull away in second all the time if you pull away fast it then seems to change down to first but after your moving. Is this normal?
