Right. I purchased some aftermarket ones for £140 for a set of 4. No programming was needed. I just needed to drive the car for around 15 mins! Now I have a working TPMS. Thanks for your inputs

So it appears that Mercedes dealers no longer supply AGM batteries for the SL55 AMG as a replacement they supply a normal lead acid battery instead. I wonder why?
