OEM W205 coupe shallow boot tub or Bootsliners.co.uk alternative ?

Those short sided liners are all very well but do not protect the back of the rear seat or the sides of the boot area. I bought a washable zipped liner for my S203, moved it to the S204 when I swopped. OK, the fit now is not perfect, but the front unzips over most of the back seat when I lower...

What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Keep an eye on middle of Lidl, I bought one of their battery charger/conditioner toys a couple of years ago for a princely £14.99 and it's kept the SLK happy since - but then the toy spends a lot of time in her garage with the conditioner connected! I gather from the experience of others that...

Mercedes eqa charge port door locked

That is one reason I will never consider an EV as my wife's car - we've had the S204 C220Cdi since March 2012 and she's never even put fuel in it, the idea of her trying to fuel an EV en route to or at our daughter 120 miles away is a total non starter, she can't even operate her smart phone...

What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Went and looked into the local MG dealership today to see what management thought of the MG ZS, so may soon be looking to offload the s204 - but looking online at the stupidly low valuations of the SW204 that may not happen!! Cannot believe how low the online valuations for our top spec s204 are!

Just sharing, One of the silent majority!

Overall plan is to reduce from main car and sunny weekend toy to one car only, which will have to cover all things, not been up close to an A class for a long time but suspect it would not be big enough for trips to family as wife never travels light!

Just sharing, One of the silent majority!

I'm another lover of the 204, even though the past month or so she's thrown me a couple of expensive wobblers. First I thought the "check brake wear" warning was the front pads - no, rear pads (did not know there was a warning sensor on the rears!), discs and 1 caliper, I already knew about the...

What is everyone having for dinner tonight?

Reprised my monkfish tail and scallops recipe last night for the first time in months, this time baked in a sauce of passata, mushroom ketchup, olive oil, star anise, a couple of cardamon pods and turmeric. Sliced a long pepper in half into the sauce, placed the 1/2 monkfish tails alongside with...

Even more new jokes... (No UK Politics please)

The emoticons were meant to show I was extracting the michael, not serious! I also cannot believe how those aliens in MotoGP can get 250+ HP 2 wheeled missiles layed over at what we now see as approaching 60 degrees without, as you mention, expensive consequences for bike and body!!

    Jap Import W222

+1 for comandonline.co.uk, they're a couple of miles from J3 M3 in Lightwater Surrey (actual shop front is Unique Car Sounds) as they know more about MB ICE etc than most if not all MB main dealers! @Alfie @richard

    How to check main battery

Book at battery and alternator test at your local Halfords (it's free), if the battery fails, get a replacement price from Halfords but also look online at Tayna in North Wales if you're happy to fit the battery yourself.

Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

Unfortunately I cannot remember the name - advancing age and failing memory, plus I not longer have the history file from my 968 cab to refer to! Think it may have been JRM Motorsport. Fantastically impressive place, shame they closed it and moved everything back to their midlands base.

Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

We used to have an outfit on the way to Rye Harbour who did lots of exotic stuff. They looked after a number of high end rally cars for high end drivers, and also ran 2 Nissan (Nismo) GTR's in top class racing, even had a dabble into Le Mans 24 - and Porsch Club Kent Region (I was a member at...

Have You Seen Any Interesting Cars On The Road Lately?

Nearly ordered an SD1 when they first came out, but decided to wait a year for the bugs to be sorted - by which time the price had climbed! Same happened with the Discovery, first came out as a 3 door and I wanted a 5 door. A year or so later they came out with the 5 door but had loaded it with...

    Recent purchase thread

I had the Metabo 18V version of one of those, useful tool. Gave it and my 18V combi drill to my SIL, he used it to cut up their Xmas tree this time last year! The Metabo 18V stuff is too heavy for me now, but I find their 10.8/12V stuff is fine and does all I need it to, even drilling 8mm holes...

What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Just home from collecting the S204 after repair, MoT station just down the road so called in, and got MoT retest (free) immediately, same tester as Saturday. PASS - with only the couple of minor advisories. Phew!!

What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Rear brakes (pads, discs and 1 caliper) £665, replace offside horn(£98), now fixing the MoT fail items! Still have to get a price for the paintwork defects.

What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Well, just had a call from the garage, S204 is ready for collection, but wife is at work until 2 so don't know if we'll collect it today or tomorrow morning. The bill - good job I was sitting down - £702.60. OUCH OUCH OUCH. Car has cost me best part of £1500 in the past month, and that's without...
