No longer a Mercedes owner! 😱

I've had an actual or effectivly 2 seat Dad's car for a number of years now - 8 1/2 years of Porsche 968 cabriolet and to date about 5 years of MB R171 (early facelift) SLK280, kept for dry sunny weekends and garaged on battery conditioner when not in use. SLK has been in her garage since...

    Interesting signs

In the gents at the Deutag (German drilling/workover contractor) camp in Dukhan, Qatar c.1997 was a sign which read "Bitte werft keine kippen ins pissbecken" which translates as "please do not throw your fag ends in the urinal"!!

    F1 2024

Only on Ch4 highlights, MB have a way to go, they way MV blew past Lewis in the DRS pass and then ran away was ridiculous.

Kent, Surrey And Sussex Members, Air Ambulance Funding Effort

It's amazing that air ambulance is not government funded considering the essential work they do! Red shades to avoid

Mars Red is the USA version of Fire Opal Red in UK. I would hope that the millions that the Fire Opal Red fiasco cost MB in about 2007-2012 they would have fixed the problem by now!

    Red shades to avoid

You can add carneol red metallic to that list, problems with lacquer failure rather than actual paint, MB not interested. In the past 4-5 years had bonnet and roof resprayed, under 2 years later paint shop had to re-do the roof FOC due to lacquer failure, 2 years later (March this year) had...

Another quick and easy for us tonight - thick cut honey roast ham, 2 fried eggs, baked beans and cheaty deep fried frozen french fries, washed down with a rather nice Rose. Went down rather well. Gaining Info on Electric Tariffs

Semi snap - our dishwasher has a delayed start function that herself uses - but to switch it on so it finishes about 9.30 (we're both retired so do not start early!) so it starts about 7! Daughter and SIL have smart switches for a load of stuff in their place - which we house sat for a week a...

    Gaining Info on Electric Tariffs

Like you, I have an Economy7 meter, and like you I record and spreadsheet gas and electric useage on an Excel spreadsheet, so I know how much we've used each month on the "day" and "night" meters (R1 and R2). We've been here 17 years, I've on a few occasions looked at switching to an economy 7...

    Mac an' his cars eh!

I understand that Alastair - our S204 is now 16 years old, and wife is getting antsi about her age (the car!) despite the facts car is very well equipped, comfortable, economic (until the last 4 months), very practical and easy on our aching bones. However, the recent £650 for replacing rear...

Even more new jokes... (No UK Politics please)

My SIL does not go to the loo, he disappears to the library, we often suspect he's reading War and Peace! Thankfully they have 3 loos - en suite, family and downstairs - so "relief" is normally available! However, I've learnt to lock the door downstairs as rising 5 grandson just bursts in when...
