I agree with the post about becoming too bogged down in fault chasing. Go in with your eyes open and remember it is not a cheap car to start with. In the last five years I have replaced the pump in question and still have some airmatic issues. A pump was about £300 fitted, it was a few years...

Depending on how many tyres you get through, is it not worth paying a little more and have the support of the tyre fitters? I just worked out that I paid the equivalent of £20 to have a tyre fitted based on the camskill price compared to the price I paid. However, when I want a puncture...

    Replace Propeller Shaft Center Bearing

Thread resurrection time... Does the bearing slide off without too much trouble? I need to do this myself and plan on taking the prop shaft off first to solve the issue.

    clk w208 differential leak

on the same thought process, the size of the allen key to remove both the filler and drain plug is something I wanted to know. Anyone know the size? I presume is is the same on most cars given someone on the W211 thought that it was a torx socket. That would be for taking the diff apart I would...

    Recommendations for discs and pads

how do the increased braking pads work then? Genuine question since I thought you traded increased wear on both disc and pad for better stopping ability.

    Recommendations for discs and pads

Alps, you say they are disc eaters, I thought that something had to give to get performance. The car is mainly used for motorway driving and then of course A roads as necessary. I was thinking that with this type of use that disc wear would be reduced? Just think the car could stop a little...

Tyres out of shape resulting in vibration or balancing?

That is interesting. Mine have small cracks is raised places on the tyre and they make a noise at all speeds though at about 20 they are at their nosiest. I did not think I could have sent them back so now reading this have ordered a new pair and will be sending the old ones back for hopefully...

    Air suspension problem w211

your first two sentences contradict themselves. Assuming you have airmatic then the leak may not be the unit, it could be somewhere else and this is the result of the leak. I believe it is quite difficult to locate these problems because you need access to every joint and pipe to check for damage.

Had similar issues, the pump was replaced and that was part of the problem (it was low on pressure) and the wiring that supplied it was causing problems so new wiring was fitted. Not perfect yet since there is still a leak and the car sinks to the point of the red warning if left for more than a...
