V350 Viano, cruise control retrofit and coding?

I can't assist you unfortunately, but do you mind me asking where you purchased your Viano from? I am looking for one myself and Jap imports seem to be higher spec and are much lower miles and better condition for the year.

    Brand New 2024 Mercedes E-Class Estate S214

That is a great looking estate and a crying shame if this is going to be Merc's last. I have always been a massive fan of all estates, in my eyes they almost always better looking than their saloon counterparts along with being much more practical. I rather like the version (in saloon form) I...

    GAP INSURANCE

Glad, you've managed to source a suitable GAP Insurance policy. For others reading this thread, one thing I would always advise, make sure the policy is "Back to Invoice". This means that whatever you paid for the vehicle is what you get back should the vehicle be a total loss. So, if you pay...

No w218/212 rear airsprings/bellows in uk and on back order in Germany with no ETA

I purchased Arnotts via Autodoc and found them to be excellent with no issues once fitted. Autodoc prices vary so get them at best price you can (usually 30+% discount). Currently 35% discount at £235.82 inc vat each side/rear (I paid £214 back in March 2021 for comparison) Hope that this...

    Boot Lid Woes (A209 Cabrio)

Good afternoon everyone, For the last few days my boot has been temperamental. It doesn’t like to be opened via the boot latch, so I’ve been using the key fob almost exclusively. Unfortunately, it now doesn’t like opening on the fob now either. It makes the noises to open but the latch just...

    S212 buying advice

I've owned my S212 2.2 diesel for 7 years and apart from having to replace the rear air bags (easy fix) I've had no major issues (🤞). Bought it at 98k and currently sitting on 125k. As with anything of that age buy on condition and supporting maintenance rather than mileage.

On average how long do you keep your car for?

Current Cars - CLK Cabrio = 3 years & S212 E Class = 7 Years prior to that S211 E Class = 6 years I do find myself keeping cars, however, I now starting to get an itch to get something new. Have looked at latest E Class Estate but prices have shot up. Now considering a Vito/V Class next.

W211 SBC pump failure - replacement in Herts?

That actually sounds like relatively good value for money considering the rarity of E500 Estates. Especially ones in good condition. I am sure you will get the value out of the pump and if you decide to move the car on, anyone who know anything about early 211's will appreciate knowing that it...

    Autoglym convertible soft top cleaner

And @W1ghty this is exactly the way I clean and proof my CLK roof and it still looks fantastic and the water beads off a treat. I've been doing this for the last 3 years.

Cleanest 211 Diesel Engine Bay in the UK

Great job everyone, puts both of my cars to shame (and me of course)! I am interested in getting my engine bays for both cars as clean as I can, but does anyone have any recommendations for cleaning products and cloths etc to achieve this? Both engine bays are pretty disgusting at the mo...

E Class 350 Sport, rear air suspension.

This is the method I applied to mine. Lines changed first (approx £300 with an indie), no joy, went to do the valve block next but discovered both airbags had tiny leaks so replaced the pair (bought via online app called Autodoc, bought Arnotts for under £500 and had local mech fit for £150).

Rear Air Bags for S212 Arnott or Aerosus?

Interesting, the only 2 names that kept on coming up in my searches was Arnott & Aerosus. I went with Arnott only because more people had good things to say about them compared to Aerosus (who were much cheaper), also I purchased them via Autodoc because I could trust that their prices were all...

Rear Air Bags for S212 Arnott or Aerosus?

Glad I could pass on a useful tip, this is what a forum like this is all about. 👍 :) You know what, during lockdown I'd do exactly the same to just to get it to raise!

Thanks for that. Unfortunately I have the Thermatic heating system rather than the Thermotronic so no activated charcoal filter. Appreciate you trying to assist.

That's better than my 320 V6! I might use this info with SWMBO as an argument to upgrade to a V8 CLK ;)

Suzzie, the CLK 500 so this happened

Just a personal observation. I would have left the Brabus centre caps on those lovely wheels. I've enjoyed reading about the work you've put into the car, it looks like it will pay you back in spades.
