As far as can be seen the car is as it left the factory (well OK, a bit scruffier...). The rad which was in the car is about 14x14inches and the problem seems to be the pipe connecting it to the gearbox. At the rad end this has a 'banjo' fixing which doesn't fit the replacement rads which...

A plea for help! The rad in my '96 W124 E200 has handed in it's notice and my garage has so far has two different rads delivered, neither of which fitted. Is the rad on such a late '124 so very different? Where (except MB) can I get one? Any thoughts? Thanks guys

I think EL is indeed a red herring - it's problems were widely known withing the financial world but the regulator (and Treasury) prevented any action being taken before it was too late.

My '124 produces a cacaphony of bangs and clatters from the suspension over the potholed (even more than usual) roads of Sheffield. I've been wondering what if anything to do about it, so I'd be interested to hear about any other '124 suspension rebuilds.

I have a generic boot mat bought (for a tenner) from a car accessory shop. It has so far fitted happily in the boots of a VW Touran, Honda CR-V and Saab 9-5. I'm sure the Merc version is a thing of beauty, but i'd be willing to bet it costs rather more than £10....
