PCP contract and main dealer servicing

From my experience in the motor trade (a few years back now!) it is all about the 'expected' future value of the car. This will ALWAYS be a trade value and the dealer will marrk this up or down depending on service history, condition, milage etc. They shouldn't mark down the value of your car...

    A heating problem...

My 124 is in at the moment having a new radiator and thermostat fitted. This is mainly due to the fact that the rad has gone but I too have had a problem with the heaters. The mechanic thinks this may solve both problems in one go. I'll let you know if it works!

Has our definition of "High Quality" changed?

In my view mechanical / build quality is harder to measure in todays world. The gap between say a Ford and a Mercedes has closed dramaticaly since the early '90's. can anyone suggest a 4x4 for under 1k?

A friend of mine ran a Toyota Surf for over a year and being japanese had no problems at all. As they are pig ugly and not that good to drive they are cheap too! It'll certainly be newer than a Landrover or Pajero.

Broken seatbelt arm on W124 Coupe

I have a 1992 230ce with a broken drivers seatbelt arm. It's only the holder at the end of the arm that has split. It looks like it just slides off so a new one can be fitted. I guess I would need to unbolt the seatbelt at the floor to slide over the new holder. Is this the right way to do it...

W124 ignition barrel problem ~ help!

I had the same problem 2 weeks after buying my W124. Assuming the ignition hasn't already been changed in the past you can order a new barrell for about £70 from MB with a copy of the log book and chassis No. However, although the job should be really simple as long as you can get the key to...
