What c class diesel would you recommend?

I've just changed to 330d touring after a 320cdi then a c250cdi and an e 250 cdi over the last 10 years . Huge difference. The BM engine is a peach and so is the 8 speed auto. No doubt what my recommendation is!

Mercedes E class estate S212 Dog Guard

No actually! There are quite a few parts which came with it which I never used. I had a mat as well so simply wedged it at the bottom . I was often taking it out and putting it in again so that worked pretty well. You can have the rubber mat if you like !

Mercedes E class estate S212 Dog Guard

I have a very clean dog guard with all the bits for sale as I no longer have the car. It is a genuine MB part. Any Offers ?

    My 2012 C63 Coupe

And this was a new car! Iam seriously considering buying one and have 2 test drives this weekend at different places. If I bought one and had that sort of issue it would go a long way to ruining the experience. And the tracking as well? Aren't you a little bit miffed or is the sound so glorious...

    E350 2015 Horrible "safety" feature

Meant to mention this a few weeks ago though may be known to most. When this comes on just click ok on left hand button on steering wheel. Has taken me two years to find that out and then it was purely by accident!

Did I make a mistake ordering like for like Continentals for first W204 tyre change?

Now you wouldn't want to upset the many people on here who use Contis would you? They are certainly not junk for starters always there or thereabouts in tests. I have had them now for over 5 years on a c class then an e class and like a lot of people I' m sure I think they are just fine ...

Winter Tyres, Snowchains and Snowsocks -- overkill?

I would say you're taking the wrong car. Anyway in answer to your question I would say that the winter tyres would be as good as the snow socks on roads with partial asphalt showing. In fact you are likely to ruin the snow socks very quickly in those conditions. I'd did that in heavy snow in a...

    Winter Driving

Snow maybe but not if there is any ice underneath. Both c class Estate I had and current e class Estate totally useless wouldn't even get out of office car park or up drive at home. Yes mercs are poor in such conditions though most cars can handle fresh snow or the gizze type...

    Mass market mercs

Thanks for all the comments. In answer to one of the earlier posts no it was not a Thursday night joke! I have had three Mercedes in this century an S211 and an s204 and the current s212. I liked the look of the s211 and indeed the s204. Perhaps I don't like the current look on the E class...

    Mass market mercs

This won't appeal to some but here goes. Time was when BMs were scarce and exclusive. I was lucky to own several. I then started noticing more and more until they became one of the most common cars on the road. I had given them up by that stage c 1999. They then became more and more ugly every...

Poll - Do you use winter tyres?

I was about to say the same in a separate post. Brilliant handling of standing water and far better grip .But let's face it the people who don't use them will never be convinced.

Best Fuel economy: cruise control ON or OFF?

The answer is in the previous post to your last one! Also you can use the speed limiter to prevent fines. I agree in the US or continental Europe CC can help save an comfortable leg on occasions but in this country the traffic on the motorways makes it ill advised most of the time from the...

New E220 CDI Coupe Poor MPG?

It's cack-handed that's why. If you ever come out of it and slow down and then put it on again it really accelerates hard up to the set speed again. Not subtle at all and I have to say I rarely use it. Can't understand why people think it's more economical than one's own right foot as it isn't.

    Fit only rear winter tyres?

Apart from the fact that the front and the rear of the car will react differently and possibly dangerously. Yes the rear tyres would get you going but you couldn't then stop or steer. See this from Dunlop We strongly recommend you fit a complete set of winter tyres. This increases vehicle...

    Fit only rear winter tyres?

Surely all that is being attempted to put across on this thread is that it is not advisable to mix tyres with different treads on any vehicle especially tyres with such different characteristics as summer and winter tyres. I am shocked that people who log in to this site and who might therefore...

    E Class W212

I love my E250 cdi estate a 13 plate just before the facelift. has 7 g+ intelligent lights etc. very nice inside with wood trim . Avantgarde spec. For a mixture of comfort power and economy it takes some beating. Ok a 5 series would be more entertaining on a B road but it is not in the same...
