Why would a 320 cdi from a CLS be different to another 320 cdi from a CLS?

So castrol are saying 8.5L And mobil are saying 8.0L Erm, thats quite a big difference?!??! Then a manual i had here says 7.3L and i read on forums its 7.5L. Confused.

According to the castrol website in my 2007 CLS 320 CDI i need 8.5 litres of oil. Surely this cannot be right? seems way too much, i thought it was 7.3 or 7.5L? Any advice please?

Got a email back from mercedes customer services who typed out the dates it was serviced and from which dealer. No documentation attached. Nothing. Pointless really. Nightmare!!!

hmmm i am on a wild goose chase as 3 dealers i called up have said they do not have access to the system that stores information on vehicles serviced in other dealerships. I will try to call the head office or something.
