    AMG A35 Owners Thread

Thanks So 'coincidentally' it does make exactly £40,000 when you add the £660 to the MB quoted list price! The wording on the Gov dot page states 'over £40,000', so maybe that spec would avoid the extra tax burden by all of 1P. Trouble is with potential delivery towards the end of June, (not...

And number plates at £25? Looks to me like VED value could be bang on £40,000 to the penny !!! I assume that will trigger the 5 year additional tax of £340. Shucks :(

Y Yes that’s the problem I understand that road tax doesn’t count but delivery charges do. It could be down to pennies! It must be a popular spec. Surely someone has ordered one and knows the answer?

Does anyone know if the A35 with premium and style packs just creeps in under the £40K tax limit if it’s non-metallic? Cheers

    Looking to purchase a B-Class

My wife had a 2012 W246 B180 D auto for 2 years, after having the old model for 3 years. Although still called a B Class, there is no relation between the two variants. Both good cars in their own way (although the old 2l diesel was very agricultural. I drove the new one for over 1,000 miles...

Mercedes GLC Clonking and juddering on near full steering lock

I've just bought a new VW Toureg 262 RLine and not a trace of crabs from the 20 inchers.

    GLC or F_PACE

We're now facing the SUV dilemma to replace my wife's 3 year old Evoque that's started to become a bit too unreliable to keep out of warranty. She still loves it and we could just purchase an extended warranty but she's now semi-retired and the option of going for something new, cheaper, and...

    Hive, Nest, smart heating?

Most of this boils down to whether you want a 'smart' home or not, and if you are a 'techy' or not. I bought an Amazon Echo 'cos I liked the idea of 'trying out' voice activation around the house. Sure, after a few months all I tend to use it for is turning on Radio 2 if I can't be bothered to...

Mercedes in mass recall of late models.

Well they did stop making them on the 1st Feb 2017, so i guess they're not 'modern', Lol

Mercedes GLC Clonking and juddering on near full steering lock

Maybe it's all part of the 'fix'.... You start your GLC up on a cold morning, and the small fire that builds up around the engine warms the front tyres, so no need for those elusive winters that no one can find. Once up to full speed, the cold air extinguishers the fire, and you're on your...

According to latest news, it doesn't seem to affect U.K.GLCs

    Hive, Nest, smart heating?

We've had Hive about 3 years and wouldn't want to be without it. Just being able to control your heating from anywhere in the house from your phone is most useful. Plus we can do it by voice using Amazon's Alexa. Adding the fact you can do it from anywhere in the world does prove useful if...

Lol More likely it will be to remove the faulty electric starter component and fit a manual starting handle

    W203 CDI 220 Battery Drain

I'd not recommend checking the current drain that way at all. IMO it's more likely to create further faults. You best buy an meter that's purpose built for testing such issues, and has a special fuse style connector so you can measure the draw though each individual fuse.

    Changes in the Law.

Most new cars these days have auto stop/start. This muddies the waters even further. Having seen car drivers (and even police scooter drivers) driving though crowded shopping streets in the middle of Amalfi whilst texting, nothing surprises me anymore.

All C43 AMG owners - What shall I do?

Lol - great analogy! In one of my first posts on this subject before Christmas, having spent 3 days in a C43, I commented on the fact that I'd be happy to live with some of the skipping if it meant keeping the decently tight lock (that I found both surprising and useful). You could almost...

All C43 AMG owners - What shall I do?

This also makes sense if those with larger/wider wheels suffer more 'clunking', and those with smaller wheels suffer more skipping.

All C43 AMG owners - What shall I do?

Is the difference either:- Skipping - the effect of the geometry, and the tyre relieves the sideways force Clunking - the tyre maintains grip until the clutch in the transfer box slips and makes a loud metallic bang This will account for the variability of both symptoms and degree to which...
