Hi Folks, I've just started my CLK 320 (208), it turned over for a few seconds before firing up. Once started the engine management light was on. I switched the engine off and restarted with no delay - EM light still on - drives OK. Looking on other posts, I couldn't find the same thing but...

Iv'e just had my plugs changed at a local garage - he showed me on the computer to allow 2.5 hours to change all 12 plugs (plugs and HT leads & fitting £355):):):)

The Question in hand was 'do i have to pay for extra work that SHOULD have been diagnosed in the first place. I DO NOT have a problem with the guy changing ALL plugs and leads - nor do i have a problem with what i was charged. The reason i posted was to get folks opinions of where i stood IF...

Good Advice --- I went to see him this morning - he advised he moved the coil from cyl 6 to cyl 4 - then checked it on the computer, sure enough fault on cyl 4 (he said he would pay for the coil and fit it free) -- :bannana:Good result:bannana:

I don't mind paying for 12 plugs and 12 leads if they fixed the problem the issue is it's the same now as it was before £355 ago!!!

The plugs were 'cheep plugs - standard', not the platinum ones needed. That's why he changed all 12. I don't have the plugs but he did show me them (a plug is a plug to me!) The leads were about £50 + vat for the full set.

My MPG seems to be relative to Avg. MPH 23 mph = 23 mpg (roughly). Then again mine is a 3.2ltr

The brake wear indicator just came on - front (replaced may 2007) 44k miles and rear 48k miles (on car when bought). Good going I think. Tyres lasted 31k miles - Kumho's @ £60 per tyre

I'm now in need of 4 new tyres. The existing tyres are Kumho KU31's and done just over 31,000 miles. I think I'll get the same again, at £60 per tyre sounds good to me.

Hi Has anyone got any ideas - I've got a clk 320 (51 Plate) the heater blower is very weak from all vents (fan increases speed with control, but no air), the air con is poor too - it doesn't get very cold and i need to open windows when the weather in warm. cheers :confused: G
