    2016 CLS 400 Only 10,000 miles!

Dirt and/or wear, that’s not normal for that sort of mileage. Quite a lot of creasing in the leather seat cushion and likewise little scuffs around the interior too. Hence the comment about lots of short journeys. You know what I’m getting at - it’s been owned by someone who’s probably driven...

    Lovely looking C55

Would be great to see some up to date pics. I remember the car well down in Cornwall when I saw it, towards the end of the summer. Good times!

    2016 CLS 400 Only 10,000 miles!

To me (and this will go against the grain) the mileage doesn’t mean that this one is worth the premium. There’s cars out there with ten times that mileage and the seats look better. Trips to the doctors, tescos car park, a mile to church etc. Has to be lots of short trips with that amount of...

gummi pflege not helping sticking windows?

I think the IR receiver in the door handles can cause trouble. Mind you I am sure I remember reading of broken window regulators in the 219 CLS too. I suggest if the window is frozen up, the additional force on the motor/mechanism isn’t going to do it much good. Likewise the rubber seal if the...

My only issues within these sorts of interiors is that they always look better in the photos and/or when they are new. Something about brown interiors where the plastics and leather discolour/fade/go yellow at different rates, show wear/ingrained dirt and sometimes look a bit sticky/grubby as...

gummi pflege not helping sticking windows?

Hate to say it but how about some de-icer spray? For the really cold mornings it has to be better than moving jammed glass/seals or forcing the door open past the seal anyway. And less likely to allow water in to re-freeze elsewhere later, too.

    To wax or not?

It’s a bit like asking someone for their favourite restaurant, there’s literally dozens of quick detailers/spray waxes/sealants out there! As per always with these things, just using something is better than doing nothing. Keeping it simple really helps, especially at this time of year! :thumb...

Reduction in main dealer service pricing

Wonder if it’s a price glitch for that auto trans service? I’m sure they will honour it for now though!

Retro fit seats 6 & 7 to rear of new GLE

Would strongly suggest it easier to find a 7-seater from factory. Why try and build a car that you can buy already? Suspect the parts will be expensive, how about airbags, seat occupancy sensors etc? Coding it to the car? Labour for the above would make it an expensive and time consuming task...

    Auction question.

As said, contact LEX and they’ll give you a price to purchase. I would be surprised if they’d be interested in extending the lease any further on a 2016 van with over 100k miles.

Facelift S211 ISOFIX: how to reach the fittings through the leather seat gap ?

Found an old image from one of my E55Ks, there is usually a logo too indicating presence of ISOFIX. Does your car have ISOFIX as an option code from the factory?

Facelift S211 ISOFIX: how to reach the fittings through the leather seat gap ?

It’s been several years since I had my 211s, but doesn’t this part of the seat usually have a flap that lifts up?

    To wax or not?

Yes, in general wax is outdated - modern coatings/sealants are superior in terms of longevity. If you have some spare time have a look at some of the YouTube videos out there covering this, ‘Forensic Detailing Channel’ is pretty good 👍

    To wax or not?

There’s loads out there, probably worth a Google or look on YouTube for some reviews/comparisons. I’ve used this before - they were doing a deal in Costco recently for about £12/13 a bottle if you shop there by chance: Meguiar's G190526EU Hybrid Ceramic Spray Wax 768ml Advanced SiO2 Technology...

    To wax or not?

If the paint is in good condition, then a modern spray ceramic type sealant would be a better option than wax. Easier to apply, more effective and longer lasting

It sounds as though you’ve got the itch. 5 years is a long time to own a car. Plenty of stuff to experience out there. I’d not recommend the LSD. It will be the same old car, just with an LSD. Fair enough if you want to keep the car, but no point if you’re looking to move on anyway. Stuff...
