Tesla S Bursts into Flames Whilst Recharging

Depends. The Scandanavians and Baltics are edging close to a fully renewable energy grid. Most of the countries obtain at least 50% of their energy from renewable sources. Based on this, the outcome becomes far more effective as there's no "out of sight out of mind" electric source like...

The Award For The Most Annoying Person Goes to?

I like Ricky Gervais .... unfortunately, it's got to the point of dislike in my job that the most annoying person is literally every customer.

    What a crappy day

This one? Google Streetview It says 'permanently closed' if you Google them. Think I recall reading a lot of bad reviews, think I managed to avoid any dramas with mine.

    What a crappy day

They still exist (Used Cars Bedford, Used Car Dealer in Bedfordshire | A6 Motors Ltd). Think their sister company was something like Saadi motors in Luton who they would pass all their MOTs with  Alarm bells went off when my sales advisor/point of contact was called 'bluey' (no...

    What a crappy day

Was that in Bedford? If so, I bought my last car from them a while back. It was specially the right colour, gearbox, engine and price with not many about, so I just bought it in the dark and paid a deposit (literally giving them my old car as p/x). On returning to pick up, as soon as I'd...

    What a crappy day

Was a decent day to check the waterproofing of a folding roof, though! I suspect this was perhaps part of why I had my time wasted :dk:

    What a crappy day

It's difficult, as I'm looking for an R170 so it's not really a stockable car for the established dealers. I'm in the South West, and most of the cars round here are in Bristol - so the usual suspects stock them at dreamer's prices (i.e. full CAP for a car with rough as toast interior, marked...

    What a crappy day

Haha yeah, familiar story. Years ago I gave a mate a lift to see a Nova (this was a good 12 years ago, so it was semi-modified). We followed the directions and ended up in a sort of industrial estate all boxed in by a good half dozen lads. It had welds like bird poo all over the inner...

    What a crappy day

So had finally narrowed down my search for a new (but old) Merc over the last week. Gave a couple of days prior notice for a viewing today (trader with a site), then even further notice this morn confirming a time. Was given the thumbs up, so set off on a 100+ mile, 2+ hour trip to view and...

Dashcam - A Hinderance For Performance Car Drivers?

I bought a cheap one off eBay, it was about £35. Front & Rear cams. It's been in the car constantly for about 18 months now. Doesn't have GPS or speed etc, but the 32GB card I put it will last a few weeks worth of footage.

Dashcam - A Hinderance For Performance Car Drivers?

Using one to show people how idiotic someone was/is when they nearly crash into you isn't anything to do with vanity? The other uses you list are either the smallest minority, or someone under 20. Certainly nothing to do with vanity. Private plates are vanity. I can't actually think that...

Dashcam - A Hinderance For Performance Car Drivers?

Fear of being caught doing something you shouldn't be? :dk: I don't see how it is considered "vanity"? I have front & rear, they've been invaluable in reducing the number of 'crash for cash' scams where people slam on, or helping to prove innocence in accidents for many people

    MB service

This is essentially because the government have made it so convoluted to actually get the code. You can print off your license or give them the code, but it's easier to just ask a customer for their NI number. For the curious, if you go to www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence you can log in to your...

Looking at a 10 year old (plus) MB..

I've found it a mixed bag with specs - really odd that there are "special edition only 20 ever made OMFG" models on the net, but they are missing a raft of buttons on the dash and look (minus a badge) no different. I would have previously asked why a convertible would have heated seats, but...

Looking at a 10 year old (plus) MB..

Just to update, I've had a complete change of mind having spent the last week or so scouring CLKs and looking at specs, colours and so on. I'm pretty set now on an SLK, but I've made myself quite a few dealbreakers... - Must be a 320; V6 or nothing (I'll just want one if I get a 4-pot) -...

Feel free to correct me, but I'm sure he'll never find an ETM on a D5 :dk:

    New run around!

Bear in mind that the timing belt/aux belt/tensioners interval on the Euro3 D5 is 96k. Depending on the timings, it could be due its second change now/soon.
