BAS/ASR warning light on, cruise control not functioning

Before going too far, make sure the connections of the wheel speed sensors to the harness - and plug / socket of the ABS pump are clean and dry - use a water-chasing switch cleaner to make sure (I had the same problem and that's all it was)

    Ignition key circuit board

Bought a key off ebay with an A1 case (the case of my regular key is badly cracked and on the verge of disintegrating); how do I get the circuit boards out of the key cases so I can put mine into the good case?

    Windscreen washers - W203 220 cdi

Latest issue (they keep coming - drove an MV6 for 5 years without a peep - got rid cos's of 25mpg vs 203 cdi of ~ 45 mpg - but the latter costs the same to date in parts!) washer reservoir is leaking its contents - not investigated yet but seems to be leaking in the vicinity of the pump - is...

    Fuel supply problem - W203 220 cdi

Your welcome Paresh - also fill the tank as much as you can before the filter change - the hydrostatic head of fuel above the in-tank fuel suction point (base of tank)condiderably assists the lift pump resulting in a much shorter HP pump priming time

    Fuel supply problem - W203 220 cdi

The problem was indeed the HP pump - but I was fooled for long enough in to believing that the HP pump was OK Why? - because: - (with more than 1/2 tank fuel showing), the car started readily and ran fine - I'd had most of the pump in bits and could see no wear of other defects I now...

    3.0 CDI engine

Few queries on this power unit:- 1. when was it introduced? 2. is it comparably as reliable as other merc CRDs? 3. chain-driven cams? 3. re-mapable?

    Maybe something I've eaten!

Can anyone who has driven a 300c comment on the motoring press criticisms of relatively poor field of view (narrow windscreen and thick A pillars, narrow side windows and rear screen) is it really that bad?

    Fuel supply problem - W203 220 cdi

As I feared, the MB fuel filter made no difference - nor has renewing the short rumber fuel pipes at the rear of the vehicle (chassis to polycarb pipe, polycarb pipe to n/s sender unit) Have noticed the following however:- With the fuel in the o/s of the tank down to ~ 5l or less...

    Fuel supply problem - W203 220 cdi

Still on with this issue - fitted an MB fuel filter and now waiting for the tank to get to half-full to see what happens (not optimistic !) Done a leak-off test with a Sealy kit, results:- No1= 8.7ml/min, No2=10.0ml/min, No3=11.6ml/min, No4=9.6ml/min - I don't know if these results are good...

    Fuel supply problem - W203 220 cdi

Disconnected the fuel return line at the n/s sender unit and diverted to a jar via an 8mm hose with a 2mm nozzle at the end (similar to size of spray pump nozzle) - started the engine and observed the flow on a range from idle (700rpm) to 4000 rpm. At idle to 1000 rpm, there was merely a dribble...

    Fuel supply problem - W203 220 cdi

Thanks - yes - now several tank loads later One factor I've never 'confessed' to earlier was putting valvoline injector cleaner into the tank literally on the eve of all my problems starting - could this of itself 'mess-up' the fuel supply / injector systems. Think I'll get a professional...
