    R170 Interior Light

Thanks Andy emailed them - I'll let you know how it pans out. The problem is irritating (1 Bulb rather than 2!) rather than critical.

    R170 Interior Light

Morning Folks Interior light holder is damaged so that one bulb is no longer held correctly so doesn't light. I'd like to find the interior plate and replace it, but not sure as to where I might locate and purchase one. Any thoughts please? Based in North Cornwall BTW Cheers

    Wind blocker

Can't help there Jon - I bought mine for the R170 SLK and the greatest improvement was poor weather & nightie visibility to the rear. The mesh net is positively dangerous in some situations but I believe that MB may have expected you to either not use it or remove it. Not particularly useful or...

On a different subject for any SLK drivers who want fitted luggage at a sensible cost I also found a German independent firm that can supply SLK luggage which fits well, looks good and is at least 50% of the cost of the official MB version and is very useful when touring! SteveS

Talk to Tim Schmitt of http://www.windblox.com/ in the USA. It's made from clear aircraft grade Lexan - which means it's not affected by UV Took about 10 days to come and cost me under £100. Don't bother with the edging - it's not necessary, and was difficult to remove, though I did manage. If...

    Day Running Lights

Sorry for the delay I'm including 3 pictures. 1st lights not on. 2nd lights on as per daylight running. 3rd with side lights only on. Not sure how they'll appear in these low-res pics. If not enough detail I'll nip out at dusk and redo. Cheers

    Day Running Lights

I have the Ring ones fitted to our SLK, more or less in the same position as the 'official' ones in the new SLK range. The internal circuitry detects whether the Battery is being charged or not and therefore turns them on when the engine is running. Second wire is used to detect whether the...

Are DRL's instead of Fog lamps?

There are restrictions (Not sure exactly off the top of my head) that mean they have to be in certain positions - think no more than 400mm from outside edge of car and no less than 250mm from the road. But I stand to be corrected on that...

LED Daylight running lights on an SLK

Running lights Must admit that I'm sort of eying up the Phillips units for my 230. Like you I'm looking seriously at the daylight running with lights on purely for safety. In my case we live in the far SW and some of the local populace are quite unable to judge any sort of legal speed at...
