Hi Dave, is your e500 a 5.5 lire or 4.7? If 4.7 does it have a ticking noise under braking and steering?

Hi there sorry the crash this thread but does anyone have any experience with the 4.7 litre e500? 125 edition 2012 which has difference brakes. As I have a braking / steering noise that I am being told is characteristic?

Apparently all e500's make this noise does anyone have any experience with the 4.7L version rather than the 5.5 or 4 litre as they brakes differ? Btw they have no other e500 available to test the theory hence my asking!

Wow almost two months goes by and they haven't made any further investigation on the car and now get back saying they can offer 3/4 ish of the value as a buy back or have the car collected again for further diagnosis. Thanks w124nut interesting senario, but I think this is a different noise issue whereby a clunk/thump happens upon steering, like a shifting strut spring! Thankyou again though for considering this issue, most kind.

Hi Micybo the noise seems a little systematic I think to be this but a good suggestion thank you. I'm not sure if there are any sensors upon these struts though that may trigger something to create this noise, so if you or anyone else knows more on this, please do bring it to the board.

Hi w124nut thank you for your positive comments and considering the issue, the noise does not occur without braking or hard steering (yes as if in a slalom) but I would add the rhythm always appear the same regardless of the speed travelling and sounds like a clock going at four times the speed...
