Thanks for the info, very helpful. No EML showing on the dash, no hissing that I've heard and this isn't it's first fuel filter I'm pretty sure .. I always stick to the same garage for fuel and I do a lot of miles a year, never an issue with it thankfully. I'll see what the service shows up...

I'm not sure if glow plugs need to be individually 'resistance' tested or if a faulty one show's up in diagnostics (I'd imagine it would). I have a fairly cheap scan tool but it's also been recently recently by a Merc specialist with an all singing all dancing scanner. No faults (at all) showed...

Thanks Steve .. I did think it might be a glow plug alright. Would that not show up in fault codes? (scanned during cold start up today) .. Thanks for your help, Rob ..

Just to follow up ... I'm guessing possible causes could be one of these : fuel filter : booster heater : injector .. I scanned it this morning before a cold start and no fault codes showing. If anyone fancies jumping in, please feel free. Cheers, Rob

Sounds about right. Safe mapping will give somewhere between 20% to 30% increase in bhp so in your case 230bhp is realistic. The prices are reasonable also so go ahead if you like but it will increase it's thirst no matter what they say (depending on how you drive of course). Mapping is...
